Encounter at Farpoint, Part I
Captain's log, stardate 47153.7. Starfleet has assigned the U.S.S. Enterprise to investigate Farpoint Station, recently constructed on the planet Deneb I. This station is intended as a demonstration of the goodwill of the Bandi, who are petitioning for entrance into the United Federation of Planets. Normally, no investigation would be necessary, but the starbase that the Bandi have constructed is far beyond what our studies suggest that their technology can produce. At Farpoint Station, we will also be picking up the remainder of our crew complement, most notably Commander William T. Riker, executive officer, and Commander Beveily Crusher, chief medical officer. |
11 |
|
Encounter at Farpoint, Part I
Captain's log, supplemental. En route to Deneb IV, the U.S.S. Enterprise has been interrupted by the appearance of a grid-like force field. An alien life form calling itself the "Q" appeared on my bridge in humanoid form, and demanded that humankind "infiltrate" no further into space. The being finally left affer stating, "There are preparations to make." The ship was unable to elude the powerful forcefield at maximum warp. We have successfully completed a saucer separation traveling at Warp 9.2; I hope to confront and detain the "Q" with the stardrive section while the saucer section with the families and bulk of the crew escape. |
12 |
|
Encounter at Farpoint, Part I
Captain's log, stardate 41I53.7. The appearance of the "Q" has somehow not taken up any time in real space on our chronometers. After the saucer module separated, the "Q" transported the bridge officers to a 21st-century court, with "Q" as judge. jury, and executioner. Here we stood trial for "grievous savagery" as a race. Mister Data cited a legal precedent of the era that prevents any individual from being tried for the crimes of his species, to no avail. We were returned to our ship on my suncestion that "Q" observe us on our upcoming mission to judge whether or not mankind has evolved beyond its brutal origins. |
13 |
|
Encounter at Farpoint, Part II
Captain's log, stardate 41153.27. Upon arrival at Deneb IV, the final members of our command crew were received and briefed on the encounter with the mysterious "Q." Furthermore, Commander Riker has manually overseen the reconnection of the Saucer Section to the Star Drive, and all command functions have been returmed to the main bridge. Mister Data escorted Admiral McCoy back to the U.S.S. Hood after the Admiral completed his inspection of the medical facilities of this starship. Now I am left with the puzzle of investigating Farpoint Station, with the weight of my actions possibly having repercussions for the future of humanity. |
14 |
|
Encounter at Farpoint, Part II
Captain's log, stardate 41153.7. Following some unusual events reported by Commander Riker, I dispatched an away team to investigate Farpoint Station and attempted to learn more about its construction. Our away team discovered a series of triangular caverns of a composition totally unknown to us and non-indigenous to Deneb IV. We do not have enough information to speculate about the origins of the caverns, and our Betazed counselor, Deanna Troi, is nearly overwhelmed by the emotional pain she detects there. In orbit, a large alien craft has arrived and begun to bombard the old Bandi city with powerful energy beams. |
15 |
|
Encounter at Farpoint, Part II
Captain's log, stardate 41153.8. An away team has discovered that the alien vessel shares the same design as the caverns beneath Farpoint Station.
Apparentty, this huge "spacecraft" is, in fact, a tremendous life form able to manipulate matter and energy like our replicators. When a wounded alien was discovered on Deneb IV, the Bandi provided it just enough energy to serve their needs, and thus created Farpoint Station. This injured creature was released from its captivity by the transmission of an energy beam from the U.S.S. Enterprise. The discovery and emancipation of the life form apparently convinced the "Q" of humanity's advancement beyond savagery. |

|
The Naked Now
Captain's log, stardate 41209.2. The U.S.S. Enterprise has been assigned to rendezvous with the U.S.S. Tsiolkovsky, which has been monitoring the collapse of a giant red star. On our approach to the U.S.S. Tsiolkovsky, we received a series of messages that indicated severe psychological dysfunction in key crew members. An away team has beamed over to the ship to investigate. They report that all hands are dead, due to loss of almospheric pressure – apparently triggered voluntarily. Furthermore, all eighty of the deceased crew members, even in their frozen state, appear to have been involved in activities best described as "eccentric". |
17 |
|
The Naked Now
Captain's log, stardate 41209.2. Upon returning from the away mission, Lieutenant La Forge began to exhibit symptoms of discomfort. Some time later, he escaped from sickbay and began wandering the ship, apparently suffering from the affects of alcohol intoxication. All crew members with whom Mister La Forge has had direct contact have begun to exhibit symptoms of emotional instability and promiscuity. It is my fear that La Forge has contracted whatever it is that infected the crew of the U.S.S. Tsiolkovsky. Currently, Commander Riker and Mister Data are researching the possible cause of these afflictions. |
18 |
|
The Naked Now
Captain's log, supplemental. After the rapid spread of the virus, Commander Riker and Mister Data discovered a previously recorded incident with a similar virus. The first starship U.S.S. Enterprise encountered an infection, the Psi 2000 virus, on Stardate 1704.2; Doctor Crusher was able to develop a cure based on this discovery. Lieutenant Commander Data was able to reconfigure our computer core, sabotaged by an infected crewmember. Due to the quick thinking of Wesley Crusher, we were able to use our tractor beams to move the ship away from the stellar fragment, and give Mr. Data the time he needed to engage the engines and save the ship. |

|
Code of Honor
Captain's log, stardate 41235.25. An outbreak of the Anchilles Fever on Stryris IV has spread out of control and is killing millions and threatening millions more. The U.S.S. Enterprise has been assigned to open diplomatic relations with planet Ligon II in response to this plague. Ligon II is the source of a rare vaccine for Anchilles Fever, and unfortunately, this vaccine cannot be replicated. Since the vaccine must come from its natural source, an agreement must be reached with the Ligonians without violating the Prime Directive. To begin negotiations. I have contacted the Ligonian leader, Lutan, and invited him on board the U.S.S. Enterprise with full diplomatic honors. |
20 |
|
Code of Honor
Captain's log, stardate 41235.3. Lutan has taken an unusually strong interest in our security chief, Lieutenant Natasha Yar. He has kidnapped her from the U.S.S. Enterprise in a bold move to gain personal honor among his people. Lutan has chosen to keep our Lieutenant Yar as his new wife, or "First One." If I do not comply with his demands, the vitally important vaccine will be lost to us. I also cannot simply take the vaccine from Lutan, since that would violate the Prime Directive. It seems that I will be forced to allow Lieutenant Yar to duel Lutan's wife, Yareena, to the death, in order to save the lives of millions on Stryris IV. |
21 |
|
Code of Honor
Captain's log, stardate 41235.35. Lieutenant Tasha Yar has prevailed over Lutan's wife, Yareena, in the duel for supercedence. In an attempt to reduce the political involvement on Ligon II we have beamed Yareena on board the U.S.S. Enterprise at the moment of her "death." With the ship's sickbay and Doctor Crusher's skill, it was possible to revive Yareena from what would certainly have been a lethal injury on Ligon Il. Because a Ligonian marriage contract dissolves at the point of death, Yareena leaves Lutan with only his honor to show for the ordeal. After negotiating with Yareena, we were able to procure a quantity of the vaccine for delivery to Styris IV. |

|
The Last Outpost
Captain's log, stardate 41386.4. The U.S.S. Enterprise has been assigned to retrieve a stolen T-9 energy converter from a Ferengi Marauder in our vicinity. After pursuing the starship for some time at maximum warp, the Ferengi stopped, confronted us, and locked the U.S.S. Enterprise in some type of tractor field. Power from our ship is being drained at an alarming rate, apparently from a type of Ferengi weapon of which we had been unaware. Unless we can break free of this energy-dampening field, w will be totally at the mercy of the Ferengi, who are not known for their kindness. |
23 |
|
The Last Outpost
Captain's log, supplemental. We have been unable to break free of the eneroy-damnening field that is presently crippling the U.S.S. Enterprise. We have learned that it is not the ferengi who are producing this field, but instead a nearby planet that Mister Data identifies as part of the ancient Tkon empire. I have made contact with the Ferengi DaiMon and suggested that both our starships send away teams down to the surface in order to discover the cause of our predicament. The Ferengi DaiMon has agreed to this joint venture, but I cannot help but feel apprehension concerning his motives. |
24 |
|
The Last Outpost
Captain's log, stardate 41249.4. Commander Riker reports his team was promptly attacked by DaiMon Taar's men unon their arrival on Delphi Ardu. Fortunately, due to some type of energy assimilator on the planet's surface, both parties hand weapons were rendered useless. A humanoid projection presented itself to Commander Riker and tested his "courage and wisdom." This ancient guardian of the Tkon empire was shocked to find his vast civilization had fallen, but was salisfied by Rilker's responses to his queries. The guardian offered to destroy the Ferengi vessel, a gesture Riker declined in an effort to secure better relations with the Ferengi alliance. |
25 |
|
Where No One Has Gone Before
Captain's log, stardate 41263.1. The U.S.S. Enterprise has made a rendezvous with the U.S.S. Fearless in order to pick up Starfleet propulsion specialist, Kosinski, to allow him the opportunity to improve our warp engines. The last two starships upon which Kosinski has performed his experiments have all reported statistically significant gains in warp core efficiency. Commander Riker and Chief Engineer Argyle have expressed their doubls about improving our newly built engines; neither Data nor La Forge could find any relevance in the equations Kosinski sent ahead. Nonetheless, l am authorizing the test. |
26 |
|
Where No One Has Gone Before
Captain's log, supplemental. Mister Kosinski's expreimental warp propulsion theories have worked well beyond our expectations. We have traversed several million light years and have arrived at a region of space beyond the galaxy M-33. Unfortunately, we will be unable to return home to our own galaxy unless Mister Kosinski can reproduce his experimental results. In this strange region of space, we can find apparently little distinction between thought and reality. Crewmen throughout the ship are reporting strange occurrences, and I believe it imperative that the ship depart before we lose all sense of reality. |
27 |
|
Where No One Has Gone Before
Captain's log, stardate 41263.3. It appears that Mister Kosinski was not, in truth, responsible for our accelerated speed. His assistant, the "Traveler," has the ability to transcend space in a way unknown to us. Weakened by the ordeal, the "Traveler" used his abilities to return us to the Milky Way galaxy, but obviously at great personal strain. The "Traveler" informed me that the true purpose of his journeys has been to seek out those of a prodigal nature. He found Wesley Crusher to be just such a prodigy with regards to warp propulsion systems. In light of this information, I have granted Wesley Crusher the rank of Acting Ensign on board the U.S.S. Enterprise." |
28 |
|
Lonely Among Us
Captain's log, stardate 41249.3. After picking up delegates from the Beta Renner system for transport to Parliament, I have diverted the U.S.S. Enterprise to investigale a strange energy cloud observed in nearby space. With a minor increase to our warp speed, we will easily be able to deliver the delegates from Beta Renner to Parliament on schedule. During our close sensor sweep, Lieutenant Worf was injured by a power surge in the sensor array but is under the care of Doctor Crusher in sicktay. Mister La Forge informs me that the surge was a freak occurrence and that the sensor array meets acceptable safety standards. |
29 |
|
Lonely Among Us
Captain's log, supplemental. Mister Worf has reccovered from hs injury, with some small amount of memory loss. Doctor Crusher's initial diagnosis attributed Worf's memory loss to his injury. Soon afterward, Doctor Crusher was found to have similar gaps in her memory and exhibited strange behavior. A short time later, Assistant Engineer Singh was found dead in the warp core chamber, victim of a power surge similar to the one that affected Lieutenant Worf in the main sensor array. Since this tragedy, I have ordered level-one diaonostics to be performed on all ship's systems in an effort to discover the cause of these surges. |
30 |
|
Lonely Among Us
Captain's log, stardate 41249.3. Our diversion to study an energy cloud has caused us to pick up an unexpected passenger – a creature composed entirely of energy. Attempting to escape and not knowing how to seek assistance, this creature traveled from crewman to crewman. Finally, the creature merged with me and ordered the U.S.S. Enterprise back to the energy cloud. After beaming out into space as pure energy, I was not able to interact with the energy beings and was left alone by them. Fortunately, Lieutenant Commander Data recovered my pattern from the transporter buffer and successfully re-integrated my body. |
31 |
|
Justice
Captain's log, stardate 41255.6. After delivering colonists to the Strnad system, the ship's personnel discovered another class-M world in the nearby Rubicon star system. I am authorizing shore leave due to the somewhat stressful nature of the past few missions we have undertaken. A second away team has been beamed down to the surface to determine shore-leave suitability. The planet appears to be ideal for recreational activities given that it is inhabited by a peaceful race who call themselves the Edo. I have assigned Acting Ensign Wesley Crusher to accompany the away team to ascertain suitability for civilians and children. |
32 |
|
Justice
Captain's log, stardate 41255.6. On the surface of Rubicon III. Mister Crusher has accidentally broken a local law, and it has been discovered that the Edo have only one penalty in their justice system: the administration of a lethal injection. I will not allow the boy to come to harm as a result of his ignorance of local custom, but I find that the issue is immensely complex. The Prime Directive clearly states a policy of non-interference in the affairs of a local culture. We have made contact with an alien in orbit alongside the ship. This powerful being apparently acts as the local god, caring for the Edo as if they were its children. |
33 |
|
Justice
Captain's log, stardate 41255.6. Against my first officer's advice, I transported down to the surface in order to explain my position to the Edo leaders and their god simultaneously. I intervened on Wesley's behalf and spared the boy his certain death even though my action was in violation of Starfleet's Prime Directive. After explaining to the Edo's protector that any law that is absolute cannot possibly be just. The orbiting creature allowed us to beam our entire party back up to the U.S.S. Enterprise and leave, provided that we did not further interfere in the affairs of the Edo. I have relayed this information to Starfleet Command. |
34 |
|
The Battle
Captain's log, stardate 41723.9. After receiving a rather strange summons, we have met with a Ferengi, one DaiMon Bok, at the Xendi Sabu star system. At those coordinates, Bok presented to me the battered hulk of my first command, the U.S.S. Stargazer, which I had believed to be destroyed in the Maxia system years ago. I am unsure of Daimon Bok's intentions in presenting this gift, but I can also see no way that the Stargazer itself is a threat to me or my crew. On a personal note, I have been experiencing rather intense headaches, for which Doctor Crusher has no explanation or relief. |
35 |
|
The Battle
Captain's log, supplemental. I have beamed aboard the dilapidated remains of my first command, the U.S.S. Stargazer, to discover what possible motives DaiMon Bok could have in presenting the ship to me at this time. It is truly unusual that a Ferengi will embark on any venture without there being some personal profit. Despite Doctor Crusher's constant care, my headaches have grown more severe and are now almost unbearable. Perhaps it is associated with the stress involved with being re-united with my first command, thought lost so long ago. |
36 |
|
The Battle
Captain's log, stardate 41724.9. I have discovered that DaiMon Bok's son was aboard the ship that attacked the U.S.S. Stargazer years ago in the Maxia system. DaiMon Bok was employing some type of outlawed Ferengi mind-control device on me in an attempt to exact revenge. Bok manipulated me to the point of regaining the bridge of my former starship and attacking the U.S.S. Enterprise! Thankfully, Commander Riker was familiar with the maneuver I had used at the last battle of Maxia, the "Picard Maneuver." and was able to counter the mind-control device before either ship could experience serious damage. We are heading to Starbase 9 with the U.S.S. Stargazer in tow. |
37 |
|
Hide and Q
Captain's log, stardate: 41590.5. The U.S.S. Enterprise received an emergency call for medical assistance from the mining colony on Sigma III. En route to Sigma lII, a familiar force field was erected in the path of the U.S.S. Enterprise. Sensors confirmed this to be the same barrier we encountered upon discovering the "Q." After displaying a marked interest in my first officer. "Q" Transported my command crew away for some game of his devising. I remained on the bridge alone and was frustrated that "Q" would interfere at a moment of great crisis for the colonists on Sigma Ill. |
38 |
|
Hide and Q
Captain's log, supplemental. Waiting alone on the bridge, I have been joined by Security Chief Natasha Yar, who was sent from "Q's" game. Apparently, he is challenging Commander Riker in much the same fashion that he confronted me with the puzzle of Farpoint Station. In an attempt to convey to "Q" what humanity means, I quoted a line from Shakespeare's Hamlet: "What a piece of work is man! How noble in reason, how infinite in faculty. In form and moving how express and admirable, in action, how like an angel, in apprehension, how like a god!" I feel this could be the key defense against something like the "Q." |
39 |
|
Hide and Q
Captain's log, stardate 41590.5. The power of "Q* returned my crew to me without any time having elapsed on the ship's chronometer. Somewhat surprisingly, the "Q's" power was now possessed by my first officer, Wiliam Riker. In an effort to avoid any further intervention by "Q," I ordered Mister Riker to refrain from the use of these powers, whatever the circumstances. I noticed a profound change in Commander Riker. A short while later, with "Q's" insistence, Riker offered each of his fellow bridge crewman a gift, which they, in turn, refused, not caring for an easy way to avoid their limitations – limitations that define the human condition. |
40 |
|
Haven
Captain's log, stardate 41234.5. The U.S.S. Enterprise is on course for Haven, with the crew anticipating a well-deserved shore leave. En route, we have received an urgent distress call from Electorine Valeda Innis of Haven. The Electorine has requested our assistance in preventing a Tarellian Ship from landing on the surface of Haven. Previously, the Tarellians destroyed their culture through biological warfare, and it is feared the ship may still be contaminated with a deadly, bio-engineered virus. I have also received a resignation request from my ship's counselor, Deanna Troi, so that she might fulfill her family obligations in an arranged marriage. |
41 |
|
Haven
Captain's log, stardate: 41294.5. The U.S.S. Enterprise is hosting both wedding parties, the family of Doctor Wyalt Miller and Ambassador Lwaxana Troi, the mother of Counselor Deanna Troi. Doctor Miller has been receiving mental images, which he assumed were of Counselor Troi, but he has now learned otherwise. Ambassador Lwaxana Troi apparently takes delight in embarrassing those around her by using her Betazed telepathy. The Tarellian vessel still proves to be a mystery, with no clues as to its motives or intentions. |
42 |
|
Haven
Captain's log, stardate: 41294.5. Counselor Troi has decided to cancel the wedding and remain on board the U.S.S. Enterprise. The Tarellians have made contact with the U.S.S. Enterprise and revealed the woman from Doctor Miller's dreams. Deciding this was a predestined fate, Doctor Miller has voluntarily beamed himself over to the Tarellian vessel and hopes to find a cure for them. The vessel, however, remains under a medical quarantine. |
43 |
|
The Big Goodbye
Captain's log, stardate 41997.7. We have just left Isis II for a mission with some interesting intellectual and personal challenges. The U.S.S. Enterprise is assigned to open up diplomatic relations with an insect-like race called the Jarada. The Jarada are extremely reclusive and adhere to a strict protocol: they insist upon being greeted correctly in their own language, without the aid of the universal translator. Any mistake in the greeting could result in a loss of future contact or even the destruction of the U.S.S.
Enterprise. After my over-preparing for this meeting, Counselor Troi has urged me to take some leisure time in the recently upgraded holodeck. |
44 |
|
The Big Goodbye
Captain's log, stardate 41997.7. After a brief sojourn into a new holodeck program based on the 1940's-era pulp detective novels of Dixon Hill, I have convinced several other crewmembers to accompany me. Doctor Crusher, Mister Data and I have been joined by Mister Whalen, a specialist in early 20th-Century history. Apparently something has happened to the holodeck and has caused certain portions of the program to become more intense. The computer will no longer reveal the holodeck exit to us. We will have to continue our role-playing until engineering can find the malfunction and release us from the holodeck, or we complete the program. |
45 |
|
The Big Goodbye
Captain's log, stardate 41997.7. Mister Whalen has been shot by the fictional character of Felix Leach, with a 20th-Century revolver-type pistol. He is in dire need of medical altention that can only be provided in Sickbay, but all of our attempts to exit have thus far been in vain. I can only assume that the holodeck safety parameters have been disengaged by the malfunction in its programming. It will be a trial for us to extricate ourselves from this predicament since Dixon Hill's nemesis wishes me to provide for him an item that I do not have. Failure to produce the item could result in our deaths, as could failure to exit the holodeck in time to greet the Jarada. |
46 |
|
Datalore
Captain's log, stardate 41242.4. The U.S S. Enterprise has been diverted to assignment in the Omicron Theta system. This system is where our own Lieutenant Commander Data was believed to be constructed and was later discovered by Starfleet officers from the U.S.S. Tripoli. I have chosen to revisit the site where Data was found, in hope of discovering what happened to the colony that was destroyed there. It is also hoped that some insights might be gained as to the creator or creators of Mister Data since his construction marks an incredible breakthrough in cybernetics and robotics. |
47 |
|
Datalore
Captain's log, stardate 41242.4. Exploring the surface of Omicron Theta IV. the away team has discovered a disassembled android almost indistinguishable from our own Mister Data. These components were found in the underground laboratory of Doctor Noonian Soong, a renowned cyberneticist who left Earth after his failure to produce a positronic brain. Apparentiy, he made a working positronic brain some years later in the form of Mister Data and his twin "brother." A team of engineering specialists is presently attempling to reconstruct the android discovered on the planet using Mister Data as a guide. |
48 |
|
Datalore
Captain's log, stardate 41242.7. The engineering team has successfully reassembled the android, called Lore, from the surface. Lore's main programming is different from that of Data, in that he appears capable of experiencing emotions. While on board the ship, Lore impersonated Mister Data and attempted to sacrifice the crew to a "Crystalline Entity." Apparenty, the colonists on the surface were destroyed by this same entity, probably with the help of Lore. We presume that Lore was in fact dismantled as a result of this kind of aberrant behavior. After an altercation with Data, Lore was beamed out into deep space. |
49 |
|
Angel One
Captain's log, stardate 41637.3. The U.S.S. Enterprise has discovered the Federation freighter Odin, which has been missing for seven years. Three of the freighter's escape pods have been launched and indicate survivors. Mister Data has deduced that the planet Angel One has the highest probability of being their destination. This planet is based on a matriarchal society, and it is hoped that their leader wil have information about survivors if any are there. We must take great care in this situation as the Prime Directive of non-interference is in full effect on this planet. |
50 |
|
Angel One
Captain's log, stardate 41637.1. Lieutenant Yar and her away team have discovered the survivors of the Odin living outside the main community of Angel One. Both Yar and Mister Data also confirm that the survivors have built a small community of their own on the planet and do not wish to board the U.S.S. Enterprise. Commander Riker has been in contact with the "elected one", Mistress Beata, and hopes to negotiate with her the release of the survivors. It would seem that Mistress Beata views the survivors as dissidents who are not beneficial to her society. |
51 |
|
Angel One
Captain's log, stardate 41637.3. Our away team has managed to reach an understanding with the establishment of Angel One and will allow the survivors of the Odin and their new families to be re-located to a remote part of the planet. At least for the time being, the current male sexism in the society will continue, though, as Riker points out, social evolution will not be
halted indefinitely. |
52 |
|
11001001
Captain's log, stardate 41365.9. Following a delay of a week at Omicron Pascal, the U.S.S. Enterprise has now docked at Starbase 74 for a scheduled computer refit by specialists from the planet Bynaus. Commander Quinteros assures us that the Bynars are the most efficient computer technicians available. Services and upgrades will also be performed, and many of the officers will take the opportunity to relax with various forms of recreation. Commander Riker will pursue musical interests in the holodeck while the Bynars complete their work on the computers. |
53 |
|
11001001
Captain's log, stardate 41365.9. While Commander Riker and I were still on board the U.S.S. Enterprise, it appeared to suffer a warp core breach and was commandeered out of dry dock on an unknown heading. Riker and I were distracted by a startlingly realistic holodeck female called Minuet. As she was not part of the commander's original program, she may be our only lead as to who has reprogrammed the ship's computers and commandeered the U.S.S. Enterprise. |
54 |
|
11001001
Captain's log, stardate 41366.2. The U.S.S. Enterprise is now in orbit around the home planet of the Bynars, a race whose existence is dependent upon their computer interfaces. It appears a solar flare has caused the planet's main computer resource to crash, an event which would have destroyed the entire race. Using the U.S.S. Enterprise's computer, the Bynars were able to store data from their computer core on the ship's computer while the flare's pulse erased memory on the planet. With our assistance, the information was fully restored to the Bynars' computer core once it was rebooted. |
55 |
|
Too Short a Season
Captain's log, stardate 41309.5. The U.S.S. Enterprise has reported to Persephone V to pick up Admiral Mark Jameson and his wife, Anna, for transport to Mordan IV. The admiral is being brought in response to a message from Karnas, the political leader of Mordan IV, who has reported a hostage crisis involving Federation Ambassador Hawkins. Karnas specifically requested the presence of Admiral Mark Jameson, who negotiated a similar incident approximately 45 wears ago. The admiral is suffering from Iverson's disease, for which there is no known cure, and will be closely monitored by Doctor Crusher while on board. |
56 |
|
Too Short a Season
Captain's log, stardate 41309.9. While in orbit around Mordan IV, Admiral Mark Jameson has ingested an alien compound that is believed to produce a regression of age. Furthermore, Jameson has revealed to me that the Starfleet records of his negotiations 45 years ago are inaccurate: he traded weapons to both factions on the planet and provided the means for 40 years of civil war. Karnas has apparenty lured Jameson here for revenge. Hoping to meet Harnas on equal terms, Jameson ingested the youth compound in an attempt to atone for his sins. Ironically, Doctor Crusher reports that Jameson will soon die as a result. |
57 |
|
Too Short a Season
Captain's log, stardate 41310.3. After a failed away team venture to free the hostages being held on Mordan IV, Admiral Jameson and I beamed directly to the office of the miltary leader, Karnas, for negoliations. Karnas did not believe that the young man before him was truly Jameson until the Admiral revealed a scar on his arm from their previous encounter 40 ears ago. Jameson died moments later despite Doctor Crusher's best efforts to save him. After the passing of Admiral Jameson, Karnas released the hostages. |

When the Bough Breaks
Captain's log, stardate: 41509.1 41512.4. After following a faint sensor trace, and with the help of Counselor Troi's empathic abilties, the mysterious planet Aldea has been discovered. Long hidden behind a planet-wide cloaking device, this planet was believed to exist only in myth. The inhabitants are a technologically advanced race whose culture is comprised of artisans and artists. However, soon after first contact occurred, a scanning beam from the surface penetrated the ship, and several children were transported off the ship, including Acting Ensign Wesley Crusher. |
59 |
|
When the Bough Breaks
Captain's log, supplemental. After investigation by Doctor Crusher, we believe that the Aldeans have been rendered sterile due to the harmful emissions of their planetary cloaking device. It would appear that their plan is to repopulate their species with stock from the U.S.S. Enterprise's most gifted children. Due to the vast superiority of Aldean technology, it may be impossible to retrieve the children from their grasp. Equally difficult will be convincing them of their own plight, since they apparently have not discovered it for themselves. |
60 |
|
When the Bough Breaks
Captain's log, stardate 41512.4. The entire Aldean society, including their planetary cloaking shield and defenses, has been run by a device called the Custodian. Apparentiy this technology is so ancient and advanced that none of the Aldeans know how to repair it or understand its mechanisms. This revelation from young Wesley Crusher, plus his institution of a passive resistance among the children, has allowed the U.S.S. Enterprise to overcome the Aldeans plans. A medical team wil be dispatched by Starfleet to treat their infertility and prevent their extinction. |
61 |
|
Home Soil
Captain's log, stardate 41463.9. The U.S.S. Enterprise's mapping assignment of the Pleiades cluster was interrupted by a Starfleet order to investigate Velara III. Apparently, contact had been lost with the terraforming team on the surface. Since our arrival, the terraformers have been surprisingly deceptive in their dealings with the U.S.S. Enterprise crew. After Lieutenant Yar discovered one of the terraformers dead, I decided to place the entire colony under close investigation. |
62 |
|
Home Soil
Captain's log, stardate 41464. Further investgations of the Velara III situation by Mister Data have revealed that the scientists were interfering with the life processes of an existing, indigenous lifeform. This lifeform was responsible for the killing of one of the scientists with a laser drill and an attempt to kill Data. Subsequently, Data and La Forge discovered the small crystalline lifeform which inhabits the narrow., electrically conductive zone above the watertable. A small sample of this strange, inorganic lifeform has been beamed aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise for Doctor Crusher to examine further. |
63 |
|
Home Soil
Captain's log, stardate 41464.8. While in Sickbay, the unique lifeform from Velara Ill has taken control of several vital ship systems. Project Director Mandi apparently had some knowledge that there was an indigenous lifeform on the surface but proceeded with the terraforming operation in spite of this. This terraforming was lethal to the lifeform, and it reacted violenty towards Mandi and his crew in the form of strange accidents. After mediation, an agreement has been reached with this most unusual lifeform, and the terraformers are being transported off Velara IlI. |

Coming of Age
Captain's log, stardate 41416.2.At the Relva VII Starfleet facility, Wesley Crusher has been granted his first opportunity to attempt the Starfleet Academy entrance exam. One applicant will be accepted, based on their resultant test scores. There are many promising applicants, undoubtedly all talented in varying skills; one who stands out in particular is a Benzite named Mordock, the first of his race to apply. While here, I have been asked by Admiral Gregory Quinn to allow an investigation amongst my crew by a Lieutenant Commander Dexter Remmick. |
65 |
|
Coming of Age
Captain's log, supplemental. Acting Ensign Crusher has successfully made it through the first few stages of the entrance exam, in close competition with the Benzite candidate, Mordock. On board the U.S.S. Enterprise, we have faced another crisis when a shuttlecraft was stolen by young Jake Kirland. Kirland experienced technical difficulties during the theft and needed coaching through a difficult maneuver in order to survive. Lieutenant Commander Remmick has apparently taken specific note of the incident for his report to Admiral Quinn. |
66 |
|
Coming of Age
Captain's log, supplemental. On Relva VII, Wesley Crusher has been declined acceptance into Starfleet Academy at this time, in favor of the Benzite, Mordock. All of the applicants have been encouraged to re-apply next year, and Mister Crusher has returned to his duty station on board the U.S.S, Enterprise. Lieutenant Commander Remmick has completed his investigation and reported his findings back to Admiral Quinn. Gregory Quinn has offered me the position of Commandant of Starfieet Academy. Sincerely flattered by the recommendation, I have nonetheless declined in favor of continuing my mission on board the U.S.S. Enterprise. |

|
Heart of Glory
Captain's log, stardate 41503.7. The U.S.S. Enterprise has responded to a distress call from the Talarian freighter, Batris, which has been badly damaged. Curiously, the only remaining survivors are three klingon warriors, beamed back with the away team just before the vessel exploded. One of the Klingons, badly injured, has died in sickbay, and I have had the opportunity to witness a Klingon death rilual. This ritual involves a tremendous bellowing by the surviving Klingons. Lieutenant Worf included, as a warning to the dead that "another Klingon warrior will be joining them." |
68 |
|
Heart of Glory
Captain's log, supplemental. The two surviving Klingon warriors, Korris and Konmel, are militants from a small faction within the Klingon Empire that is not in agreement with the policies of the present Klingon High Council. They believe that the alliance with the United Federation of Planets has weakened the Klingon Empire since it is now in a state of peace. Korris and Konmel have had a profound influence on Lieutenant Worf and have awakened within him feelings he does not fully understand, since he was raised from early childhood by a human family. |
69 |
|
Heart of Glory
Captain's log, supplemental. Korris and Konmel have broken out of confinement and are attempting to take control of the U.S.S. Enterprise. They have also attempted to convince Lieutenant Worf that he should join them in their pursuit of past Klingon glory through battle. Worf confronted Korris as he was threatening to discharge a disrupter into the warp core. Worf attempted to dissuade his kinsman from this action by asserting that the true test of the warrior is within, and that true courage lies in the struggle to discipline oneself. When Korris rejected his arguments, Worf was forced to subdue him with a hand phaser, which resulted in a lethal injury. |
70 |
|
The Arsenal of Freedom
Captain's log, supplemental. Following a report that the U.S.S. Drake has been lost in the Lorenze Cluster, the U.S.S. Enterprise has been assigned to investigate. Upon arrival, we witnessed an automated transmission offering weapon sales from the planet. Our away team has encountered some automated systems, and Commander Riker has been subjected to a type of stasis field. There are also automated defensive systems that can learn and increase effectiveness when confronting an identified threat. Leaving Lieutenant Geordi La Forge in command of the ship, I have beamed down with Doctor Crusher to assist in freeing Commander Riker. |
71 |
|
The Arsenal of Freedom
Captain's log, supplemental. While on the planet's surface, Doctor Crusher has been injured falling into a pit some 30 meters deep. I was unharmed by the same fall but have been unable to provide the medical altention that Beverly needs. Our communicators are not operational, so I cannot contact either the away team or the ship for assistance. Presumably, they are still under attack by the planetary defenses, which have been increasingly difficult to overcome. It is my hope that the U.S.S. Enterprise is not under attack, although I now believe these planetary defenses to have caused the destruction of the U.S.S. Drake. |
72 |
|
The Arsenal of Freedom
Captain's log, supplemental. Apparenty, the attacks on the away team have been for the sole purpose of demonstrating a weapons system that was offered by the Minosians as unbeatable. Ironically, we now believe that the Minosians themselves were destroyed by this system, which continues to adapt and increase in effectiveness. Fortunately, a simple agreement to purchase the device was sufficient to halt the demonstration before any crewmen were fatally injured. I have beamed back to the U.S.S. Enterprise, and found that Mister La Forge showed great commanding ability when he defeated the space-borne portion of the demonstration. |
73 |
|
Symbiosis
Captain's log, supplemental. The U.S.S. Enterprise was observing solar flare activity in the Delos system when a distress call was received from a malfunctioning freighter. This freighter, the Sanction, was on a vital cargo transport mission between Brekka and their homeworld of Ornara. Although unable to save the ship or her entire crew, we were able to beam aboard the captain and, most importantly to him, his cargo. The nature of the cargo, or why it is so important, remains a mystery at this time. |
74 |
|
Symbiosis
Captain's log, supplemental. The cargo beamed aboard from the Sanction is believed by the Ornarans to be a vital medication needed by their people. Doctor Crusher claims that this is not the case, but that the cargo is, in fact, a narcotic substance with highly addiclive properties. The severe withdrawal symptoms have now apparently replaced the plague symptoms that the drug was initially developed to combat. The Brekkian producers of this substance, called felicium, have contacted the U.S.S. Enterprise to negotiate ownership of this cargo shipment. |
75 |
|
Symbiosis
Captain's log, supplemental. The Prime Directive prevents me from revealing to the Ornarans the true nature of the chemical they call felicium, even though the dependency of one race on another because of chemical addiction is distasteful to say the least. It is instead my choice to grant the Ormarans transport back to their world with their cargo. I will not aid the Ornarans, however, in the repair of their cargo ships, nor will I interfere with their beliefs in its effects. Eventually, it is presumed all of their spacecraft will malfunction in the same way that the Sanction did and will sever this interdenendent relationship between the Ornarans and the Brekkians. |
76 |
|
Skin of Evil
Captain's log, supplemental. A U.S.S. Enterprise shuttlecraft, number 13, returning Counselor Troi and Lieutenant Ben [Prieto] back to ship, was forced to make an emergency landing on Vagra II. There seems to be no natural phenomena which would account for this, nor does the shultle's mission recorder give any plausible reason for the crash. An away team was dispatched to investigate the crash site. In close proximity to the shuttlecraft, the away team has encountered a substance that has shown characteristics of sentience. This black, liquid mass has defied tricorder analysis, and Mister Data theorizes that it is an unknown life form. |
77 |
|
Skin of Evil
Captain's log, supplemental. The strange creature on the surface of Vagra II has communicated with the away team and identified itself as "Armus." Apparently the only life form on the surface, it has contrived to keep the away team from assisting our trapped crewmembers. In a frustrated attempt to get past the strange creature, Security Chief Yar moved swiftly and was thrown back by a powerful force. After beaming her to sickbay, doctor Crusher was unable to reverse the massive neural damage caused and she died of her injuries,
|
78 |
|
Skin of Evil
Captain's log, supplemental. Mister Worf has observed fluctuations in the intensity of the force field surrounding the shuttlecraft at times when the creature is surrounding it. After a conference with Counselor Troi, it was discovered that this weakening was in direct correlation to the conversations with the creature and was perhaps due to emotional turmoil. It was revealed to the counselor that the creature is some type of byproduct of an advanced race's attempt to cleanse themselves of negativity and evil. During a verbal confrontation with Armus, there were sufficient decreases in the force field to allow us to transport our crew back to the ship. |
79 |
|
We'll Always Have Paris
Captain's log, supplemental. Recently, reports of temporal distortions have been reported by various Federation starships. Soon after the U.S.S. Enterprise encountered this strange phenomenon, we received a distress call from Saroma VIII, a planetoid inhabited by Professor Manheim and his scientific research team. We are heading to Sarona VIll to investigate with the realization that Professor Manheim's primary research deals with theories of non-linear time. |
80 |
|
We'll Always Have Paris
Captain's log, supplemental. Professor Manheim has been transported aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise with his wife, Jenice. Manheim is gripped by painful convulsions, the result of a part of him being stranded in another dimension. According to Professor Manheim, it will be impossible to repair the rift in space and time since there is no one, including himself, fully versed in all of his theories. I have assigned Mister Data to review all relevant materials in the library computer in hopes that he will gain sufficient knowledge of the phenomena to effect repairs and restore the fabric of space. |
81 |
|
We'll Always Have Paris
Captain's log, supplemental. Upon his arival in Professor Manheim's lab, Mister Data was confronted with the research facility's sophisticaled securily systems. Due to Mister Data's superior reaction time and reflexes, he was able to deaclivate these measures. After neutralizing the threatening security, Data had to insert an amount of anti-malter into a specific chamber at a precise time during one of the distortions. Mister Data was successful in his lask, and the rift was sealed sufficiently to allow Professor Manheim and his wife to return to their research on the planel's surface. |
82 |
|
Conspiracy
Captain's log, supplemental. The U.S.S. Enterprise's mission to Pacifica was interrupted when an urgent call was received from Starfieet Captain Walker Keel. Captain Keel, a personal friend from my academy days, was unusually obsessive about the location of the meeting, the planetoid Dytallix B. This meeting was highly represented by Starfleet's most decorated captains, including Tryla Scott of the U.S.S. Renenade and Captain Rixx of the U.S.S. Thomas Paine. The other captains revealed to me a theory that there was some sort of conspiracy within Starfleet Command, a theory similar to the fears expressed by Admiral Quinn when we spoke on Relva VIl. |
83 |
|
Conspiracy
Captain's log, supplemental. After departing Dytallix B, I must admit that I was skeptical of the claims of a conspiracy in Starfieet Command. Since then, the U.S.S. Horatio, commanded by Walker Keel, has been mysteriously destroyed. I have decided to divert the course of the U.S.S. Enterprise to sector 601, and we are returning to Earth. Once there, I hope to discover if there is any truth to the conspiracy theory. |
84 |
|
Conspiracy
Captain's log, supplemental. At Starfleet command. I was alarmed to discover an alien had indeed infiltrated the admiralty. This creature apparentty enters a human body through the mouth and is able to take full control of its host through an attachment to the spinal cord. Commander Riker and I discovered and destroyed the leader of these creatures, who was inhabiting the body of Lieutenant Commander Dexter Remmick. Admiral Quinn's aide. Apparently before we destroyed the creature, it was able to transmit into deep space a signal, which Mister Data believes may be a type of homing beacon. |
85 |
|
The Neutral Zone
Captain's log, supplemental. Lieutenant Commander Data has distcovered a derelict spacecraft from Earth's late 20th-Century. To increase our understanding of that time period, Mister Data and Lieutenant Worf have beamed over to explore the craft. Their investigation revealed the cryogenically preserved remains of several humans who died in that time period. Due to advances in medicine, Doctor Crusher has been able to revive three of the cryogenically frozen people. The U.S.S. Enterprise has been diverted to the Sector 3-0, in the vicinity of the Romulan neutral zone, to investivate Federation outposts with which we have lost contact. |
86 |
|
The Neutral Zone
Captain's log, supplemental. It is obvious that the Delta Zero Five and Tarod IX Federation outposts were destroyed by some acency far more powerful than the Romulans. The Romulans have not been seen since the Tomed Incident of 2311, although they are still considered to be extremely dangerous. The ship is on red alert as we patrol the area and attempt to reconstruct the events leading up to the destruction of these outposts. Meanwhile, we are attempting to acclimate our guests from the 20th-Century to their new surroundigs, but with slow progress. |
87 |
|
The Neutral Zone
Captain's log, supplemental. Our first encounter with the Romulans since 2311 has revealed that they have suffered similar losses to our own on their side of the neutral zone. We have come to an agreement to share our scientific findings about this tragedy and are perhaps beginning a new era of trust between our respective peoples. Their new starship design may be as powerful as the U.S.S. Enterprise, and their vaguely threatening declaration, "We are back," will be considered seriously at Starfieet Command. We are taking a heading to rendezvous with the U.S.S. Charleston, which will transport our 20th-century guests back to Earth. |

Captain Jean-Luc Picard
A native of Labarre, France, Jean-luc Picard is from a traditional family of French wine makers. Maurice and Yvette Picard, Jean-Luc's parents, have both passed away, leaving their eldest son, Robert, to run the family vineyard. Following his ordeal at the hands of the Borg, Captain Picard returned to France to contemplate his future with Starfleet. He regained a sense of identity at home, and decided to resume his duties as captain of the U.S.S. Enterprise. |
92 |
|
Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Captain Jean-Luc Picard is an exceptional athlete as well as a scholar. He is listed as the only freshman to ever win the Starfleet Academy Marathon – edging past four upperclassmen in the final stretch. Furthermore, Picard has demonstrated skils in fencing, racquetball, parises squares, equestrian events and hand-to-hand combat. The captain's physical prowess qualifies him for commanding many difficult missions, in spite of their strenuous physical requirements. |
93 |
|
Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Captain Picard is first and foremost a true scholar, with the works of William Shakespeare proudly displayed in his ready room. Picard also enjoys reading the exploits of Dixon Hill, a fictitious private investigator from the early 20th Century on Earth. Captain Picard even maintains a recreational holodeck program that is based on the Dixon Hill novels. Picard's classical education and knowledge of literature have helped to save the starship U.S.S. Enterprise on several occasions. |
94 |
|
Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Commander William Riter and Captain Picard have become close friends during their service together on the U.S.S. Enterprise. In fact, Riker considers Captain Picard one of his personal heroes. Captain Picard andl Doctor Beverly Crusher also maintain a close relationship. It has appeared at times that Doctor Crusher and the captain would become more than just colleagues, but invariably any personal feelings they may have for each other go unspoken. |

In 2355, Picard's first command, the U.S.S. Stargazer, was destroyed at Maxia, concluding its legendary 22-year mission of deep space exploration. Captain Picard was court-martialed for the loss of the starship at the hands of the Ferengi, but ultimately cleared of all charges. During that mission, Picard's closest friend Jack Crusher died in the line of duty. |
96 |
|
Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Early in his Starfleet career, a young Jean-Luc Picard was in a "bar room brawl" with a group of angry Nausicaans. One of the Nausicaans stabbed Picard in the back with a knife and punctured his heart. Ever since, Picard has lived with an artificial replacement heart. The heart is a constant reminder to the captain that at times, "fools rush in where angels fear to tread." |
97 |
|
Captain Jean-Luc Picard
The malevolent species known as the Borg captured and surgically assimilated Captain Jean-Luc Picard into their collective inteligence, thus transforming him into a being known as Locutus. After re-capturing Locutus from the Borg ship, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise managed to break through the Borg implants and contact the mind of Captain Picard, who showed them the way to incapacitate and destroy the Borg ship and save the Earth from the Borg assimilation process. |

Captain Jean-Luc Picard
In the 27th century an advanced race, the Vorgons, developed an artifact called the Tox Uthat, which had the ability to halt all reactions within a star. Realizing the destructive potentiat of the apparatus, its creator, Kal Dano, traveled back in time to hide it on the planet Risa. Captain Picard and an archaeologist named Vash recovered the Tox Uthat on Risa in the year 2366, after learning of its immense power. Picard destroyed the artifact. During the course of their adventure Picard and Vash established a brief romantic relationship. |

Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Aware of his imminent death, [Kmpec], the leader of the Klingon high council, appointed Captain Picard to arbitrate the Kingon rite of ascension. As the first non-Klingon in this capacity, Picard's suitability was questioned but, his political neutrality and personal honor gained him the acceptance of the council. Picard installed Gowron as Leader of the High Council instead of the child Toral, helping to keep the alliance between the Federation and the Klingon Empire intact. |

Lieutenant Commander Data
A fantastic example of engineering and Technology. Dala's positionic brain is capable of tremendous processing power. Suited to logical thinking, it is not completely capable of the level of creative reasoning displayed by many organic intelligences. Data's lack of "insight" sometimes causes him to be confused by things that most humans would consider "common sense" – like figuring out how to escape a simple Chinese finger puzzle. |
101 |
|
Lieutenant Commander Data
Upon assignment to the U.S.S. Enterprise, Geordi La Forge and Data became close friends. Geordi is fascinated by Data's naiveté of humanity, as well as the complexity of his android construction. Data's analytical mind is well-sulted to engineering tasks, and he is intrigued by the idea of becoming more human. Picard often assigns the two officers to work logether, since their close friendship and compatibility enable them to provide rapid an imaginative solutions to any given problem. |
102 |
|
Lieutenant Commander Data
After his introduction to the works of the 19th-century author, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Data developed a keen interest in Sherlock Holmes-style mysteries. Geordi, aware of his friends interest, created a holodeck simulation of the popular tales. Data's memorization of the stories allowed him to quickly solve the mysteries. Geordi attempted to increase the challenge of the holodeck simulation, inadvertenty giving sentient intelligence to Holmes arch-nemesis. Professor Moriarty. |
103 |
|
Lieutenant Commander Data
To better understand the human experience, Data has attempted to mimic and explore many "typically human" traits, such as sneezing, laughing, growing facial hair and even having romantic liaisons. Data was briefly involved with Lieutenant Natasha Yar while she was under the influence of a behavior-changing virus. Data also created a program for courtship and etiquette in an attempt to have a "normal" relationship with Lieutenant Jenna D'Sora. |

Lieutenant Commander Data
Activitated - 2338
Venue of Activation - Omicron Theta IN
Creator - Dr. Noonian Soong
Accepted to Starfleet Academy - 2341
Graduated Academy - 2345 [with honors]
Declared Sentient Under Law 2365 [stardate 42523.7]
Constructed First "Offspring" - 2366 [stardate 43657.01]
Commander Data has served in Starfleet for over 26 years, with an outstanding record as both a scientist and a strategist. He is the first android to command a Federation starship, the U.S.S. Sutherland, in the fleet action led by Jean-Lac Picard during the Klingon Civil War. |
105 |
|
Lieutenant Commander Data
The U.S.S. Enterprise investigated the disappearance of an earth colony from the surface of Omicron Theta IV. Here the crew discovered the laboratory of Data's creator Doctor Noonian Soong, and found the dismantled components of the prototype android, Lore. Although Lore is visually itentical to Data, he has the capacity for human emotions, a factor which crippled his ethical programming and leaves him with the potential for criminal behavior. |
106 |
|
Lieutenant Commander Data
Data's desire to acquire human traits has forced him to undertake many pursuits that seem out of the ordinary for an android. Suggested to him by his friend Geordi, painting has become one of Data's favorite pastimes. He has also taken an interest in Captain Picard's Dixen Hill holodeck program and has accompanied Picard on the holodeck after memorizing all of the Dixon Hill novels. Data's quest for humanity led Commander Riker to give him the nickname. "Pinocchio." |
107 |
|
Lieutenant Commander Data
Data continues the work of his creator, Doctor Noonian Soong, in his own advanced cybernetics lab. Data's experiments in positronic research led him to the creation of a daughter, Lal. In an effort to improve on his own design, Data imbued his daughter with a capacity for basic emotions. Unfortunately, Lal was unable to cope with her newly acquired feelings, causing a complete failure of her positronic matrix. Data transferred all of Lal's programming into his own brain so that Lal can continue to live on in his memory. |
108 |
|
Lieutenant Commander Data
Continuing in his quest to becme more "human," Lieutenant Commander Data has taken responsibility for a pet cat which he named "Spot." Although Data cannot feel emotions, he takes great care in looking after his small pet and at limes seems almost comforted by its presence. Despite the large number of food supplements that Data formulates for Spot, he seems unable to please Spot's discriminating taste. |

Klingon starship design is vastly different from Starfleet technology. A huge amount of the ship's power and technology is devoted to its weapons grid and defensive systems. Unlike most Starfleet vessels, the main viewer on a Klingon ship is usually overlaid with a complex target acquisition grid. |

Lieutenant Tasha Yar
At age fifteen, Natasha Yar escaped from the failed Federation Colony on Turkana IV. Rescued from the planet by Starfleet officers, Tasha joined Starfleet as soon as she was able. After witnessing her heroism on the planet Carnel, Captain Jean-Luc Picard personally recruited Tasha to be Security Chief on board the U.S.S. Enterprise. Lieutenant Yar's same self-sacrificing attitude was again demonstrated on the planet Vagra Il, where she attempted to thwart the sadistic efforts of a malevolent alien known as Armus – and met her unfortunate demise. |
SP5 |
|
"Q"
The intensely powerful alien entity known simply as "Q* has demonstrated its ability to manipulate space, time and matter with no apparent effort. While it is certain that "Q" is easily capable of destroying the U.S.S. Enterprise with a single thought, it instead frequently observes and confronts the ship's crew. The encounters between "Q" and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise are usually more mischievous in nature than harmful, though one incident included the introduction of the Federation to the malevolent species known as the Borg – a meeting that led to an eventual Borg invasion and cost many lives. |
SP6 |
|
The Traveler
This enigmatic alien is known simply as the Traveler, since his true name is unpronounceable by humans. Said to be from Tau Alpha C, this advanced being sees little distinction between thought, space, and time, which allows him to make immense journeys at incredible speeds. It is this power that first brought him to the attention of the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, when the Traveler inadvertenty transported the ship past a distant galaxy during a test of new warp core intermix ratios. The Traveler was the first to notice young Wesley Crusher's prodigious abilities in science and engineering technology. |

Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Jean-Luc Picard is captain of the fifth Federation starship to bear the name U.S.S. Enterprise, the flagship of the Starfleet. Picard actually failed his first Starfleet Academy entrance exam, but he later reapplied and graduated as the valedictorian of his class. Before starting his current tour of duty on board the U.S.S. Enterprise, Picard's previous assignment was command of the U.S.S. Stargazer, which explored deep space for twenty-two years. In addition to being a brilliant strategist, Picard is an accomplished scholar, with interests in literature, music and archaeology. |

Lieutenant Commander Data
Data is an android created on Omicron Theta IV by a scientist named Dr. Noonian Soong. Despite the fact that his android body makes him superior to humans in many ways, Data's greatest aspiration is to be more human. Even though he lacks the ability to feel actual emotions, Data has developed close friendships with many of the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, including his best friend, Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge. Data's brilliant scientific mind and unwavering loyalty to the crew of the U.SS. Enterprise combine to make him an ideal Starfleet officer. |
