This 16 figure assortment was already in production long before the movie uniforms were finalised. Consequently, the TNG crew figures are shown wearing the specially designed uniforms that were replaced before filming began. Later TNG Generations movie figures would be produced with the correct uniforms including 16047 Dr. Crusher, 6960 Geordi LaForge and and 6962 Data.

Rank errors - Kirk was a captain throughout this movie but his rank is incorrectly stated as "Admiral" on the front of his US 6911 package and at all four places where his rank is given on the backs of all the US 14-card backers. It is correct on the front of the US 6930 package and on the backs of the two US 16-card backers in three of the six places in which it appears (under the 6961 figure vignette, next to the figure in the accessories panel, and under "RANK" on the click and collect panel) and incorrect in three places (in the plot movie synopsis, under the 6930 figure vignette, and by the space helmet in the acessories panel). On the Canadian packages the rank is incorrect on the bubble stickers for both 6911 and 6930 and everywhere on all of the backs except under the 6911 figure vignette. Conversely, Commander Riker seems to have been demoted in this release as his rank is given incorrectly as "Lieutenant Commander" on all of the US and Canadian packages wherever his rank appears.

The 6930 "Kirk in Spacesuit" figure is from the movie's deleted opening scene.

The accessories for figures 6911 Kirk, 6914 Scott, and 6916 Chekov include 2260s "classic" versions of the phaser, communicator and tricorders as seen in the TV series and not in any of the TOS movies.

All the figures in this assortment have limited articulation with no elbow or knee joints.
