Redemption, Part II
Captain's log, stardate 45020.4. Due to the progress of the Klingon civil war, I have made a proposal to Fleet Admiral Shanthi. It is my belief that the Duras faction of the Klingon civil war is being aided by the Romulans. who seek to disrupt the Federation/Klingon alliance. I hope to reveal this aid through the use of a tachyon detection grid, as proposed by my chief engineer Geordi La Forge. |
431 |
|
Redemption, Part II
Captain's log, stardate 45021.3. I have convinced Starfleet to allow me to establish a blockade between the Klingon and Romulan borders. It appears, however, that there will only be 20 starships available for such a maneuver. I have assigned my senior staff to other starships which did not have a complete crew complement. Curiously, I have been contacted by a Romulan, Commander Sela, who claims she is the daughter of my former security chief, Natasha Yar. I have no proof or explanation as yet. |
432 |
|
Redemption, Part II
Captain's log, stardate 45022. Our tachyon grid revealed Romulan Warbirds moving to assist the Duras family. Once revealed, the Romulans withdrew, abandoning the Duras faction. Guinan has confirmed Sela's story regarding her heritage, and I must assume that the Tasha Yar who was held captive by the Romulans is dead as reported by Sela. The Klingons led by Gowron have prevailed and Lieutenant Worf has returned to his Starfleet duties aboard my ship. |
433 |
|
Darmok
Captain's log, stardate 45047.2. The U.S.S. Enterprise is en route to an uninhabited planet in the El-Adrel system. We are responding to the signal sent out by a Tamarian vessel. The Tamarians, or Children of Tama, are apparently peaceful, but there has been no effective communication between them and the Federation despite several encounters over the past one hundred years. |
434 |
|
Darmok
First officer's log, supplemental. The Tamarians have beamed our captain, along with their own, down to the surface of the planet. Attempts to beam the captain back or communicate with him have failed, due to a particle scattering field in the ionosphere generating from the Tamarian vessel. We have not established communication with the Tamarians, so l am sending a shuttlecraft to find Captain Picard—gambling that the Tamarians will back down rather than risk an exchange of phaser fire. |
435 |
|
Darmok
Captain's log, supplemental. While on the planet's surface, I ascertained that the Tamarian captain's intentions were peaceful in nature. The Tamarians speak using a narrative imagery, referencing mytho-historic events in their culture, cited metaphorically. Captain Dathon was attempting to open communication by fighting with me against a common foe. While his method was ultimately effective, Dathon was, unfortunately, killed in the event—now known as "Picard and Dathon at El-Adrel." |
436 |
|
Ensign Ro
Captain's log, stardate 45076.3. We have arrived at Lya Station Alpha with survivors from an apparent Bajoran attack on Solarion IV. Admiral Kennelly has rendezvoused [sic] with us to discuss the Bajoran terrorist movements, and has assigned a "specialist" to my ship—Ension Ro Laren, a Bajoran officer recently released from prison for this mission. It is with great reluctance that I have allowed Ro Laren to be transferred to my command. |
437 |
|
Ensign Ro
Captain's log, stardate 45077.8. We have made contact with Bajoran refugees, and they have led us to the terrorist leader, Orta—likely the man responsible for the attacks. Against orders, Ensign Ro has beamed herself down to the planet's surface, ahead of our scheduled meeting. Using the same coordinates as Ro we have met Orta's men. Ensign Ro has also confided that her true plan, in cooperation with Admiral Kennelly, was to supply arms to the Bajorans in exchange for a cessation of hostilities. |
438 |
|
Ensign Ro
Captain's log, supplemental. I have learned that we have been involved in a conspiracy. The Bajoran terrorist group could not have commilted the acts of which they are accused. Admiral Kennelly was being used by the Cardassians to destroy the Bajorans, a plan which failed. thanks to Ensign Ro. After evaluating her performance during this mission, I have offered Ensign Ro a permanent position on the U.S.S. Enterprise, which she has accepted. |
439 |
|
Silicon Avatar
First officer's log, supplemental. We were assisting the colonists on Melona IV in establishing a layout for the expanding colony here when we were attacked by the Crystalline Entity—the one we encountered in the Omicron Theta system. We retreated to nearby caves, where the metallic rock strata apparently protected us from the entity's attacks. A landing party from the U.S.S. Enterprise was able to retrieve us. We lost two of the colonists in the attack. |
440 |
|
Silicon Avatar
Captain's log, stardate 45122.3. We have notified Starfleet of our intention to pursue and investigate the Crystalline Entity. To that end, we have been joined by Doctor Kila Marr, a xenologist who has been extensively studying the entity. Doctor Marr has been pursuing the entity since she lost her son; he had been part of the colony on Omicron Theta. I have assigned Commander Data to assist Doctor Marr. |
441 |
|
Silicon Avatar
Captain's log, stardate 45125.7. While continuing pursuit, we received a message from the transport vessel Kallisko, which was attacked by the Crystalline Entity. All hands were lost. Data and Doctor Marr made preparations to attempt communication with the being. However, when we intercepted it, Doctor Marr took that opportunity to enact revenge for her son's death. She locked the pulse into a frequency which created lethal vibrations through the entity, destrouing it. |
442 |
|
Disaster
Captain's log, stardate 45156.1. Our mission to Mudor V has been completed and since our next assignment was not scheduled to begin for several days, we were enjoying a welcome respite from our duties. Today is also the day I promised three young children, winners of the ship's science fair, a tour of the ship. While in the turbolift leaving the bridge, the U.S.S.Enterprise was apparently struck, violently. The turbolift is inoperable, and I believe I have suffered a broken leg. |
443 |
|
Disaster
First officer's log, stardate 45156.4. The U.S.S. Enterprise has apparently been attacked or has impacted with something in space. I have left Lieutenant Worf in command of Ten Forward to assist the wounded. Mr. Data and I are headed to main engineering, since our access to the bridge appears to be blocked by emergency bulkheads. We will attempt to use the starboard service crawlway. Since the computers are down, we have no means of determining how many of the crew have survived. |
444 |
|
Disaster
Captain's log, supplemental. We are en route to Starbase 67 to undergo repairs following our collision with a quantum filament. Counselor Troi acted commendably in maintaining order on the bridge, despite her lack of field experience as a duty officer. Likewise, Lieutenant Worf acted calmly and responsibly, assisting Keiko O'Brien in delivering her child while trapped in the Ten Forward lounge. Life aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise is slowly returning to normal. |
445 |
|
The Game
Captain's log, stardate 45208.2. Commander Riker has rejoined the U.S.S. Enterprise from Risa, and we are headed towards an uncharted area called the Phoenix Cluster. As we are all anticipating our first look at this region, various divisions on the ship will be vying for time on the ship's long-range sensor array. En route, we will be visited by Wesley Crusher, who is on vacation from Starfleet Academy. |
446 |
|
The Game
Captain's log, supplemental. We have arrived at the Phoenix Cluster, but it will take us several hours to determine the best possible location from which to conduct our survey, in the meantime, we are searching for the cause of Mr. Data's unexplained shutdown. During this lapse, many of the crew have taken a liking to a game which Commander Riker brought back from Risa. |
447 |
|
The Game
Captain's log, stardate 45212.1. Commander Riter's innocuous game was actually an insidious attempt to take over the minds of my crew by a race known as the Ktarians. The attempt would have succeeded were it not for the quick thinking of Cadet Wesley Crusher and Ensign Robin Lefler. The two determined the effects of the game in time to reactivate Commander Data, who counteracted them. We have delivered the Ktarian vessel to Starbase 82. |
448 |
|
Unification, Part I
Captain's log, stardate 45233.1. Our terraforming mission to Doraf I has been canceled and the U.S.S. Enterprise recalled to Starbase 234. Fleet Admiral Brackett met to brief me regarding the possible defection of one of the Federation's most celebrated ambassadors—Spock. I am taking the Enterprise to the planet Vulcan to find out if Spock's father, Sarek, will have any insight into his son's actions. |
449 |
|
Unification, Part I
Captain's log, stardate 45240.1. Sarek mentioned the name of a Romulan senator. Pardek, with whom Spock has maintained contact and we have confirmed that the image of Spock on Romulus shows him with Pardek. To cross the neutral zone, I will require a cloaked ship. To that end, I have contacted Gowron, the leader of the Klingon High Council. After all we did for Gowron during the recent civil war, I am certain he will return a favor. |
450 |
|
Unification, Part I
Captain's log, supplemental. After some convincing, Gowron has supplied us with a Klingon Bird-of-Prey to fly, cloaked, to Romulus. Commander Data and I have gone undercover, disguised as Romulans to search for Spock or Pardek. We found Pardek quickty, but were apprehended by guards. Affer being taken to a hidden cavern, we were confronted by Pardek and Spock. It is apparent that Spock has Pardek's cooperation. |
451 |
|
Unification, Part II
Captain's log, supplemental. We have made contact with Ambassador Spock. He has apparently come to Romulus to pursue the possibility of a peaceful reunification between Romulus and Vulcan. I also had the sad duty of informing Spock of Sarek's death, which we learned of on our journey here. Spock has contacted, through Pardek, a Romulan proconsul who is apparentty open to the idea of a reunification. Pardek is taking Spock to meet with him. |
452 |
|
Unification, Part II
First officer's log, stardate 45245.8. The U.S.S. Enterprise is leaving Qualor II following our investigation into the theft of a surplus Vulcan ship. A Ferengi trader named Omag finally revealed the buyer of the vessel. It was delivered to a Barolian freighter at Galorndon Core. Since the Barolians are known to trade with the Romulans, I am taking the Enterprise to the Romulan Neutral Zone. |
453 |
|
Unification, Part II
Captain's log, supplemental. We determined that the Romulan plan for reunification was a ruse devised by Commander Sela. The Romulans were seeking the conquest of the planet Vulcan and were attempting to use Ambassador Spock to aid in their subterfuge. We were able to subdue Sela and her guards long enough to send a warning message, stopping their plan. Ambassador Spock has elected to remain on Romulus to continue working with a Romulan underground group toward his vision of reunification. |
454 |
|
A Matter Of Time
Captain's log, stardate 45349.1. The U.S.S. Enterprise is proceeding to Penthara IV to assist in counteracting the almospheric effects of a type C asteroid impact. While en route, our sensors detected a temporal anomaly, followed by the appearance of a Professor Berlingoff Rasmussen, a historian from the 26th century. We are continuing to Penthara IV with our visitor. |
455 |
|
A Matter Of Time
Captain's log, stardate 45334.5. The U.S.S. Enterprise has arrived at Penthara IV and we can see for ourselves the incredible damage the asteroid strike has caused. After reviewing Professor Rasmussen's credentials, I have asked my senior officers to cooperate with him. We have brought the professor's extraordinary shuttlecraft on board, but must devote our attention to the disaster at Penthara IV. |
456 |
|
A Matter Of Time
Captain's log, supplemental. We have succeeded in dispersing the contaminants from the Pentharan almosphere, and we are remaining in orbit to monitor seismic activity. Our visitor, Professor Rasmussen, has turned out to be a fraud. He was actually from the 22nd century, having stolen the time travel pod from a 26th century traveler to his time. When we detained him, the vessel disappeared, leaving Rasmussen stranded in our time. |
457 |
|
New Ground
Captain's log, stardate 453763. We are approaching the planet Bilana III, where a new method of propulsion known as the soliton wave is being developed. The U.S.S. Enterprise has been asked to participate in one of the first tests of this new technology. My chief engineer, Geordi La Forge, is understandably excited about our participation. On a personal note, we have been joined by Mr. Worf's son, Alexander. |
458 |
|
New Ground
Chief engineer's log, sumplemental. We have begun the experiment with Doctor Ja'Dar's soliton wave. The field generators on the planet produced the wave, and the test ship successfully entered warp. The craft quickly reached warp 2.35, demonstrating an incredible peak efficiency of 98%. The ship developed a transient power imbalance, however, and exploded. This caused subspace disruptions which adversely affected our sensors, warp drive and deflectors. |
459 |
|
New Ground
Captain's log, stardate. Although the test vehicle was destroyed, the soliton wave itself was never dispersed. Once our sensors were online, we were able to track the wave and disperse it with high yield photon torpedoes before it wreaked havoc on a colony at Lemma II. There was a brief panic when it appeared that Worf's son, Alexander, was trapped in an area which would be exposed to lethal radiation. Fortunately. Riker and Worf were able to get the boy to safety. |
460 |
|
Hero Worship
Captain's log, stardate 45397.3. Two days ago Starbase 514 lost contact with the research vessel U.S.S. Vico, which was sent to explore the interior of a Black Cluster. We are en route to investigate. We have discovered the Vico with no apparent lifesigns. I am sending Commander Riker and an Away Team to investigate. Meanwhile, the Black Cluster is causing massive gravitational fluctuations, which do not account for the damage to the Vico. |
461 |
|
Hero Worship
Captain's log, supplemental. Timothy, a young boy shielded from our initial sensor scans, has been discovered, alive, on the U.S.S. Vico. The damage to the vessel is consistent with the type that might be left by disruptors at close range, but we have no definite evidence of this yet. The boy has been traumatized, and has not yielded any useful answers, yet. I am taking the U.S.S. Enterprise into the Black Cluster. |
462 |
|
Hero Worship
Captain's log, supplemental Inside the Black Cluster we are experiencing massive gravitational wavefronts which are distorting sensors and weapons systems. Based on Timothy's information. Data was able to determine that. as we increased shield capacity, a harmonic amplification effect caused increased pressure against the ship's hull. We were able to nullify this effect before destroying ourselves, as the U.S.S. Vico did. |
463 |
|
Violations
Captain's log, stardate 45429.3. While on a mapping survey of Sector 22139 we picked up a delegation of Ullians to transport to Kaldra IV. These telepathic historians conduct their research by retrieving long-forgotten memories. Intrigued by the reports of the Ullians' abilities. I asked them to join the senior staff for dinner. However, following the dinner, Counselor Troi mysteriously fell into a coma. |
464 |
|
Violations
Medical log, stardate 45431.7. Commander Riker is the second offficer wno has fallen into an unexplained coma. I have examined the Ullians and ruled out the possibility that they carry a harmful organism. I have also scanned Keiko O'Brien, the only person on board to undergo a memory probe by the Ullians, but she showed no signs of damage from the experience. |
465 |
|
Violations
Captain's log, stardate 45435.8. Doctor Crusher was the last victim of what we have now identified as an ancient Ullian crime. Counselor Troi regained consciousness, and after an Ullian probe, we were led to believe that Tarmin was the culprit. La Forge and Data ran a cross check for similar instances of comas along the Ullians course of travel, and came up with a different perpetrator—Jev. We are proceeding to the Ullian homeworld, and my officers have begun their recovery. |
466 |
|
The Masterpiece Society
Captain's log, stardate 45470.1. The U.S.S. Enterprise has been diverted to The Moab Sector to track a stellar core fragment of a disintegrated neutron star. Our science teams have been asked to monitor the planetary disruptions it may cause, and during our scans we have discovered a genetically-engineered colony in the path of the core fragment. |
467 |
|
The Masterpiece Society
Captain's log, supplemental. We have moved the U.S.S. Enterprise to a parallel course to the fragment. We must move the fragment a minimum of 1.2 degrees in order to save the colony. We are channeling warp drive power through the tractor beam emitters using a pulse technology similar to the system in Geordi's VISOR. Additionally, we have reinforced the colony's shields to withstand the effects of the fragment's close pass. |
468 |
|
The Masterpiece Society
Captain's log, supplemental. We have successfully diverted the stellar core fragment. The shield reinforcements held, allowing the colony to withstand it with minimal damage. We are now faced with a new dilemma. A number of the colonists would like to leave with us. If we accept them, we would jeopardize the entire balance of the colony. After much discussion, we have decided to leave the colonists, if in six months they are still seeking asylum it will be reconsidered then. |
469 |
|
Conundrum
Captain's log, stardate 45494.2. We are investigating a series of subspace signals that may indicate intelligent life in the Epsilon Silar System. We have been met by a vessel which does not match any in our records, and while they have not responded to our hails, they are sending out a scanning beam. |
470 |
|
Conundrum
Captain's log, supplemental. The crew of this vessel has apparently been subjected to an attack by a faction known as the Lysians, with which we are at war. None of the crew has any memory of who they are, but some rudimentary skills remain intact; language and specific duty skills, for example, are unaffected. We are engaged in a military action against the Lysians, and are proceeding according to our orders to destroy their high command. |
471 |
|
Conundrum
Captain's log, supplemental. The threat of the Lysians was actually manufactured by their enemies, the Satarrans. This was an attempt to gain control of the U.S.S. Enterprise to quickly end their war. The Lysians were able to identify the false crewman, "Commander MacDuff," as a Satarran agent. Doctor Crusher is working to restore the memories of the crew and we are proceeding on course, to Starbase 301. |
472 |
|
Power Play
Captain's log, stardate 45571.2. We are going into orbit around an unexplored class-M moon of Mab-Bu VI. Though the moon was reported to be uninhabited, we have picked up a weak distress call. Mister Data has determined the signal to be from a Starfleet vessel, the U.S.S. Essex, reported missing over two centuries ago. Counselor Troi believes she's sensing life on the moon. |
473 |
|
Power Play
Captain's log, supplemental. We are still in orbit of the moon of Mab-Bu VI, but since the return of the Away Team, Counselor Troi, Commander Data and Chief O'Brien have been acting very strangely. They have attempted to take over the bridge, and are now in Ten Forward, holding hostages. We are attempting to determine what has happened to them, and why Commander Riker, also on the Away Team, was not affected. |
474 |
|
Power Play
Captain's log, supplemental. After confronting the possessed crewmembers, we learned that the entities within them were actually alien life-forms which had been separated from their bodies and left on the planetoid—a type of penal colony. The bridge crew were able to neutralize them, and their energy was returned to the moon's surface, where it has been for over five centuries. |
475 |
|
Ethics
Captain's log, stardate 45587.3. We are transporting a consignment of chlorinide from Starbase 27 to the Mylaira system. Following this, we are scheduled to investigate subspace anomalies in the Heinaria region. During an inspection of our cargo, Lieutenant Worf was struck by a large container, shaltering seven of his vertebrae and severing his spinal cord. |
476 |
|
Ethics
First officers log, supplemental. Worf's accident has left him paralyzed, and Doctor Crusher believes the condition may be permanent. Worf in the meantime has asked me, as a friend, to assist him in the Klingon ritual of the Hegh'bat. Doctor Crusher has called in a neurological specialist, Doctor Toby Russell. Perhaps she will have a better answer for Worf. |
477 |
|
Ethics
Captain's log, supplemental. Mister Worf has chasen to allow Doctor Russell to try the experimental surgery, which uses her genetronic replication technique. Following a lengthy surgery, it appeared that Lieutenant Worf had died. However, due to redundancies within the Klingon anatomy, Worf survived and is rehabilitating at a rapid pace. |
478 |
|
The Outcast
Captain's log, stardate 45614.6. We have been contacted by an androgynous race called the J'naii to investigate the disappearance of a shuttlecraft. Our intial investigation, which involved the loss of a probe, suggests that we may have found the first instance of the theoretical anomaly known as null space. I have assigned Commander Riker to work with the J'naii specialists to formalize this hypothesis. |
479 |
|
The Outcast
Captain's log, stardate 45616.3 Commander Riker and the J'naii pilot set out on a mission to chart the null space pocket. They have used a technique of firing photon pulses into the pocket and measuring where the energy is absorbed. During this exercise, the shuttlecraft contacted the null space area with its port nacelle, which immediately lost all power, causing the shuttle to spin wildly until they could get a tractor beam on it. |
480 |
|
The Outcast
First officer's log, supplemental. Soren and I have successfully rescued the J'naii shuttlecraft crew, and warning buoys have been placed around the perimeter of the null space. On a personal note, my feelings for Soren have grown very deep, and these feelings were reciprocated by her, but unfortunately they were detected by one of her peers. The J'naii have "treated" her so that she no longer has gender-specific feelings, like the majority of her people. |
481 |
|
Cause And Effect
Captain's log, stardate 45652.1. The U.S.S. Enterprise has entered an area of space known as the Typhon Expanse. We are the first Starfleet vessel to chart this unexplored region. Since being here, we have had several reports of crewmembers hearing strange voices at night. So far, no auditory anomalies have been found by ship's sensors. |
482 |
|
Cause And Effect
Captain's log, stardate 45652.1. The U.S S. Enterprise has entered an area of space known as the Typhon Expanse. We are the first Starfleet vessel to chart this unexplored region. Since being here, we have had several reports of deja-vu that have led us to the conclusion that we are caught in some type of temporal loop. We will attempt to send ourselves a message, using a dekyon field, that should be picked up by Mr. Data's positronic subprocessors. |
483 |
|
Cause And Effect
Captain's log, supplemental. The U.S.S. Enterprise has been in a causality loop for seventeen days. Fortunately, we were able to send Mr. Data a message as events continued to repeat, allowing us the opportunity to break free before the imminent destruction of our ship. In previous passes, we have collided with an older starship, the U.S.S. Bozeman, which was caught in the same loop for ninety years. Both vessels have emerged intact. |
484 |
|
The First Duty
Captain's log, stardate 45703.9. The U.S S. Enterprise is en route to Earth, where it will be my pleasant duty to deliver this year's commencement address to Starfleet Academy. I'm also looking forward to seeing Westey Crusher again. His flight team will perform a demonstration that will be transmilted to the graduating ceremonies. We will be at Earth in ten hours. |
485 |
|
The First Duty
Captain's log, supplemental. There has been an accident. Wesley Crusher and his fight team, known as the Nova Squadron, were attempting to fly a complex pattern in the flight range near Saturn, when their ships collided. There is an academy hearing underway, and after asking Geordi and Data to investigate further, I am suspicious of the testimony given thus far. |
486 |
|
The First Duty
Captain's log, supplemental. As the Starfleet Academy hearing drew to a close, Wesley came forward and admitted that the Nova Squadron had been attempting a Holvoord Starbust—a very dangerous maneuver. The leader of the squadron, Nicholas Locarno, has been expelled. The other cadets have had a permanent reprimand placed on their records, in addition to a cancellation of the year's academic credits. We are proceeding to our next assignment. |
487 |
|
Cost Of Living
Captain's log, supplemental. We have successfully neutralized the threat of a large asteroid which was headed for the planet Tessen III and are back or course for the Moselina System. We have been joined by Ambassador Lwaxana Troi of Betazed, who has requested the U.S.S. Enterprise as the site for her wedding to Third Minister Campio of Kostolain—a request which I have granted. |
488 |
|
Cost Of Living
Captain's log, supplemental. We have had shipwide reports of replicator failure, as well as a failure in the inertial dampers. I have ordered that the warp engines be taken off -line while my chief engineer Geordi La Forge and Commander Data investigate. So far they have only found a strange residue among the affected systems. We do not yet know what has caused these seemingly random system failures. |
489 |
|
Cost Of Living
Captain's log, stardate 45733.6. The cause of our shipwide failures has been determined to be a type of organism which feeds on nitrium, an element found in most of the critical systems on the ship. We have been able to "lure" the organism off the ship by sending out a particle beam charged with nitrium back into the asteroid field from which it came. The marriage between Ambassador Troi and Minister Campio was canceled when the bride appeared in traditional Betazoid fashion—naked! |
490 |
|
The Perfect Mate
Captain's log, stardate 45761.3. We are leaving the planet Krios with Ambassador Briam and are en route to a meeting with representatives from Valt Minor to help end a centuries-long war. The U.S.S. Enterprise is to host a Ceremony of Reconciliation midway between their two systems. We have picked up two unexpected passengers—Ferengi we rescued from a damaged shuttlecraft. We will take them to the nearest starbase as soon as our mission is completed. |
491 |
|
The Perfect Mate
Captain's log, stardate 45780.3. We have reached the designated coordinates for the conference and await the arrival of Chancellor Alrik of Valt Minor. Our inadvertent Ferengi passengers have caused a gift for the chancellor to be opened early—an empathic metamorph named Kamala, intended as his betrothed. Apparently, female metamorphs are extremely rare on Krios, one being born only every seven generations. They are said to be a "perfect mate," as they adapt to the needs they sense in their intended mates. |
492 |
|
The Perfect Mate
Captain's log, supplemental. The Ferengi attempted to purchase the metamorph Kamala and caused the shocked Ambassador Briam to be injured. They have been dispatched to Starbase 117; what charges will be brought against them depends upon the ambassador. I stepped in to assist with the negoliations, and with Kamala coaching me on the rituals, the peace treaty was enacted. |
493 |
|
Imaginary Friend
Captain's log, stardate 45832.1. The U.S.S. Enterprise has arrived at FGC-47—a nebula which has formed around a neutron star. Upon entering this unique formation, we have registered an impact on our shields. Our sensors have been unable to detect anything. Further, we are experiencing a drop in forward velocity due to an increase in the drag coefficient on the ship. We have been unable to determine the cause so far. |
494 |
|
Imaginary Friend
Captain's log, supplemental. While investigating the drop in our velocity, we have discovered an incredible lattice of energy strands surrounding the ship. As we attempt to move out of the nebula, the strands seem to increase in number. We are making slow progress and are unable to engage warp drive due to the strain it would put on the ship's hull. |
495 |
|
Imaginary Friend
Captain's log, supplemental. We encountered a type of plasma-based life-form living within the nebula. One of these beings interacted with several of my ship's crew by taking the form of young Clara Sutter's imaginary friend. Isabella. We were able to convince her of our good intentions, and she stopped others of her kind from attacking us. As an act of good faith, I have ordered that the energy from the warp drive be channeled into the nebula prior to our leaving. |
496 |
|
I, Borg
Captain's log, stardate 45854.2. The U.S.S. Enterprise is charting six star systems that make up the Argolis Cluster, an area being considered for colonization. What we have discovered will decidedly alter that plan. On the surface of the moon of the fourth planet we have found an individual Borg, the survivor of a small crashed vessel. We have brought it on board, and while Doctor Crusher treats it, we are investigating ways to introduce an invasive program into its biochips. |
497 |
|
I, Borg
Captain's log, supplemental. We have studied the young Borg, and lieutenant Commander La Forge has developed an invasive program which, as it is assimilated by the collective, will reproduce in a non-destructive manner until it finally causes a total systems failure. Through his necessarily close work with the Borg, my chief engineer has come to know the Borg as "Hugh." |

|
I, Borg
Captain's log, supplemental. I have met with the Borg, "Hugh," who recognized me as Loculus. After our conversation. I am convinced that he has developed an individuality. I have therefore decided to release him to the collective without the invasive program. It is my hope that Hugh's individuality will infect the Borg, perhaps in a way more destructive to the collective than the program we had developed. |

The Next Phase
Captain's log, stardate 45092.4. We have responded to a Romulan distress call, and Commander Riker has taken an Away Team over to lend assistance. Two of my officers, Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge and Ensign Ro Laren, attempted to beam back to the U.S.S. Enterprise with a damaged graviton generator when their patterns were lost. We are conducting a level one diagnostic, and all transporter systems are to remain off-line until further notice. |

|
The Next Phase
Captain's log, supplemental. We are continuing to assist the Romulan science vessel. The warp core breached and had to be ejected. Commander Riker believes that the Romulans were testing out a new type of warp system that somehow malfunctioned. We have detected chroniton particles, which could be from the Romulan cloaking device. but we have no other clues to the transporter failure. Commander Data has asked to arrange memorial services for La Forge and Ro. |
501 |
|
The Next Phase
Captain's log, supplemental. La Forge and Ro are alive. Commander Data was able to ascertain that their bodies were transported in a type of cloaked state, due to a scattered field of chronitons from the damaged Romulan cloaking device. While decontaminating the ship using an anyon beam, the pair were revealed to us, appropriately enough, at their own memorial service. The Romulan science vessel has returned to the neutral zone, using a makeshift warp core our engineers built. |

The Inner Light
Captain's log, stardate 45944.1. We are en route to Starbase 218 after a magnetic wave survey of the Parvenium Sector. We will be reporting directly to Admiral Gustafson. Meanwhile, sensors have picked up an unknown probe which has closed to a holding position relative to the ship. It is beginning to emit a beam, scanning the ship's shields. |
503 |
|
The Inner Light
Chief medical officer's log, supplemental. The captain has been scanned by an unidentified alien probe which has continued to keep a beam focused directly upon him. His vital signs are normal, but there is an incredibly high rate of neurotransmitter production. Attempts to disconnect the beam have resulted in massive trauma, and somatophysical failure. The readings fluctuate slightly. but they remain non life-threatening, as long as we don't interrupt the beam. |
504 |
|
The Inner Light
Captain's log, supplemental. I have returned to my life in the U.S.S. Enterprise. I was affected by the probe's beam in a most peculiar way. I lived an entire life on a long-dead planet. Kataan, whose sun went nova over one thousand years ago. I retain a complete memory of that life, as I believe was intended by the probe's design. |
505 |
|
Time's Arrow
Captain's log, stardate 45959.1. The U.S.S. Enterprise has been recalled to Earth to investigate some rather startling discoveries. A scientific team installing seismic regulators has discovered evidence of extraterrestrial visitations to Earth in the nineteenth century. Of more immediate concern was the last artifact found—Commander Data's head. Data has confirmed that it is indeed his and not that of his brother, Lore. Meanwhile, Mr. La Forge has determined the origin of the extraterrestrials—we are proceeding to Devidia II, in the Marrab Sector. |
506 |
|
Time's Arrow
Captain's log, supplemental. We are orbiting Devidia II, the source of the cellular fossil found at the site on Earth. Our sensors are also picking up triolic waves as found in the cavern and temporal disturbances. Affer sending Commander Riker with an Away Team to investigate, Counselor Trai has reported feeling possibly hundreds of Humans, trapped and terrified. The triolic waves on the planet are out of phase with the Away Team, and I have sent Commander Data to assist. |
507 |
|
Time's Arrow
Captain's log, supplemental. In order to investigate the possibility that there were Humans trapped in another phase on the planet, Commander Data initiated a synchronic distortion. While in phase with them, Data reported sighting creatures of unknown origin as well as an Ophidian. There was a temporal distortion and we lost contact. Our only chance to find Data is to attempt to follow him. At Guinan's suggestion, I will be leading the Аwаy Team. |

Guinan
When the entity known as "Q" first introduced the U.S.S. Enterprise to the Borg, Guinan was the only one on board who knew what a terrible threat they truly were. Guinan explained that the Borg had attacked her people a century earlier, forcing the survivors to scatter themselves across the galaxy. |
512 |
|
Guinan
Throughout her long life, Guinan married several times and had many children. Thus she gained good insights into child raising. While talking with Doctor Beverly Crusher about her son Wesley, Guinan explained how a parent can shape a child in ways they're not even aware of, "sometimes just by listening"—definitely something Guinan does well. |

Lieutenant Commander Data, following his desire to procreate, built another Soong-type android in the form of a daughter, named Lal. Data brought Lal to Ten Forward in order to introduce her to a variety of Human behavior. Guinan offered to teach Lal the art of listening; in exchange for her service. Lal was to assist in the lounge. |
514 |
|
Guinan
When Ensign Ro Laren was assigned to the U.S.S. Enterprise, she had few friends and many detractors. Guinan looked beyond Ro's outwardly abrasive demeanor and quickly established a friendship with her. Ro was always straightforward with her feelings, and Guinan, of course, always listened. |

|
Guinan
Species: - El-Aurian
Place of Birth: - Unknown
Starfleet Graduate: No
Hobbies: Fencing, Target Practice, "Listening"
Special Note: Extreme age is indicated, on the order of 500 years.
Guinan served as the hostess of the Ten Forward lounge on the Galaxy-Class starship U.S.S. Enterprise-D, until that ship's destruction in the Veridian system. Guinan is an El-Aurian, a species scattered into space by an invasion of the Borg. An encounter with the phenomenon known as the Nexus Ribbon in the late 23rd century gave Guinan the ability to sense beyond normal space-time. |
516 |
|
Guinan
Guinan was understandably reluctant to greet the young Borg crash survivor brought on board the U.S.S. Enterprise on stardate 45854.2. His race was responsible for almost completely annihilating her people. After speaking to the young Borg, named Hugh, Guinan could see that he was no longer like the other Borg. He was an individual, he was lonely, and she actually had sympathy for him. |

Guinan
Doctor Beverly Crusher was relieved of duty for conducting an unauthorized autopsy on a Ferengi scientist. Guinan, visiting her under the ruse of a tennis injury, listened to her tale with apparent interest. When Guinan feigned indifference at the end of the story. it galvanized Crusher to the point of action, leading to the revelation of the actual killer and to the doctor's reinstatement. |
518 |
|
Guinan
On stardate 46235.7 Guinan was aboard a shuttlecraft returning from the planet Marlonia along with Captain Picard, Ensign Ro and Keiko O'Brien. The shuttlecraft encountered a molecular reversion field which damaged the craft, and when the crew were beamed out, they had physically regressed into children. Guinan enjoyed the time, playing as a child would. She also urged Ro Laren to enjoy the second chance at childhood, even daring her to jump on the bed. |
519 |
|
Guinan
While Guinan's exact age is not known, it has been established that she is more than five hundred years old. When Lieutenant Commander Data traveled back in time to investigate the Devidians attacks on old Earth, he encountered Guinan, who looked much as she would several hundred years later. Data enlisted Guinan's aid, and soon she met the temporally-displaced Jean-Luc Picard and began a deep, lasting friendship. |

Ensign Ro Laren
Ro Laren was released from prison to participate in a mission involving a group of Bajoran terrorists. Ro was well-suited to the mission as she herself had fled under the Cardassian occupation of Bajor, and had experienced the resultant hardships. Despite Ro's less-than-warm welcome aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, at the conclusion of the mission she was invited by Captain Picard to remain as a member of his crew. |
521 |
|
Ensign Ro Laren
Quick, calm thinking in the face of a crisis is the sign of a good officer. Ro Laren displayed these qualities when the U.S.S. Enterprise impacted a quantum filament, following a mission to Mudor V. Acting as second-in-command, Ro worked to get power back to the bridge as well as to critical engineering systems. This action enabled other officers to save the remaining crew and begin repair operations. |
522 |
|
Ensign Ro Laren
While Ensign Ro excelled at self-expression, it was not until the crew found their memories erased that she and Commander Riker discovered romantic feelings between them. While searching for clues to their identities, Riker and Ro found themselves drawn together by the crisis. The memory loss was determined to be part of a Satarran plot against their enemies, the Lysians. Once the U.S.S. Enterprise crew members memories were restored the romance dissipated. |
523 |
|
Ensign Ro Laren
Cooperation is essential when working on a starship. Ro Laren learned to work closely with, and depend upon, her fellow officers while on the U.S.S. Enterprise. During an attempt to free three fellow officers from a type of possession by alien convicts, Ro Laren worked closely with others in formulating—and carrying out—a rescue plan. |

|
Ensign Ro Laren
Species: - Bajoran
Born: - 2340
Place of Birth: - Bajor
Graduated from Starfleet Academy: - Yes
Current Rank: Lieutenant
Current Assignment: - AWOL
Special Note: - Ensign Ro has joined the Maquis resistance.
Former Maquis rebel Ro Laren was assigned to the U.S.S. Enterprise, and many crew members expressed their doubts about her. Following her first mission, Captain Picard requested that she remain on board. Ro eventually attained the rank of Lieutenant. Ironically, Ro soon resigned her commission and rejoined the Maquis. |
525 |
|
Ensign Ro Laren
On stardate 45652.1, the U.S.S. Enterprise entered a temporal causality loop. As the helm controller on the vessel, it was Ensign Ro who attempled to maneuver the Enterprise away from another starship, emerging from the phenomenon on a collision course. With the helm and maneuvering thrusters not responding, it was only the emergency decompression of the main shuttlebay which would thrust the starship to safety. |
526 |
|
Ensign Ro Laren
Many things encountered on a deep space assignment can cause someone to question their beliefs. During the rescue of a damaged Romulan science vessel, Ension Ro and Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge beamed back to the U.S.S. Enterprise out of phase with the rest of the crew. For a short time, Ro believes that this may be the afterlife promised by the Prophets. After being rescued from this state, Ro finds that she needs to reevaluate the teachings and beliefs of her people. |
527 |
|
Ensign Ro Laren
As a child, Ro Laren lived under the Cardassian occupation of Bajor, and had a childhood she would not recall as fun. Ro was given the chance to relive her childhood when she and several other members of the U.S.S. Enterprise crew were genetically altered into their pre-adolescent forms as the result of a transporter accident. With Guinan as a companion, Ro had no choice but to enjoy the youthful opportunity. |
528 |
|
Ensign Ro Laren
Ro Laren's career in Starfleet steadily improved, and following her tenure on the U.S.S. Enterprise she attained the rank of Lieutenant. Ro was reunited with her former shipmates when she and Captain Picard went undercover to reveal a Maquis plot. The operation was successful. However, Ro found that she empathized with the rebel faction too much—enough to leave Starfleet and join them. |
