Base Set

1 Base 1 ANDREA

"Once the android Ruk resurrected me, it was a matter of deciding what to experiment with next. It astonished me – human consciousness, my consciousness, placed within the body of a machine! But I needed to discover its limitations, so I created Andrea. In her, I could see the Old One's technology was flawless. Andrea was well-crafted, an android who mimicked humanity a little too well. It is certain she aroused some jealousy from my fiancé, Christine; and perhaps a romantic stirring in Captain Kirk as well. It will be interesting to see how her programming responds to their attentions."
From the science logs of Dr. Roger Korby before dying in Andrea's arms on Stardate 2712.4

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "What are Little Girls Made of?"
Under orders from Dr. Roper Korby, the android Andrea kisses Kirk and then slaps him to prove that she is nothing more than a machine incapable of feeling any more emotion than simple obedience.
2 Base 2 LIEUTENANT B'ELANNA TORRES

"It could not have been easy for her. Partly because of her half-Klingon heritage, B'Elanna Torres faced many challenges at Starfleet Academy. But, despite her temper, I've seen the side of herself she tries to hide. I've seen the pride she took in being on the Academy decathlon team. I've seen her 'attack' engineering problems that make senior cadets blanche in fear, I recommend that if B'Elanna re-applies to Starfleet Academy, we allow her to return. She has all of the makings of a fine starship eneineer."
– Professor Chapman's note placed in B'Elannas' file after she left Starfleet Academy.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Barge of the Dead"
After sacrificing her life to save her dishonored mother,
B'Elanna prepares to face the demons of Grethor, who confront her over the ultimate destiny of B'Elanna's soul.
3 Base 3 BORG QUEEN

"While researching the species known as the 'Borg, one cannot help but draw certain inferences that the Collective follows an almost insect-like level of organization. Given this observation, we could hypothesize that a Borg 'Queen' exists, guiding the activities of the Collective, much as an insect queen guides the destiny of her own hive with powerful pheremones [sic]. Except in this case, the 'Queen' uses subspace emissions and advanced nano-technology to control her subjects and exert her power over thousands of worlds."
– Magnus Hansen

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Dark Frontier, Part 1"
Having taken Seven of Nine from U.S. S. Voyager, The Borg Queen prepares Seven of Nine for the task of assimilating Species 10026.
4 Base 4 BORG QUEEN

"In its collective state, the Borg is utterly without mercy. Driven by one will alone - the will to conquer - they are beyond redemption, beyond reason."
– Captain Jean-Luc Picard of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D after his rescue from assimilation by the Borg Collective.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from Star Trek: First Contact
The Borg Queen makes a memorable entrance as her drones finish taking over the lower decks (and Engineering) of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-E.
5 Base 5 CAPTAIN KATHRYN JANEWAY

"Through Lieutenant Reginald Barclay's experiment, we have verified that Voyager and its crew are still alive and well in the Delta Quadrant. I'm sure it hasn't been easy for them, being so isolated from the resources of Starfleet. That they have persevered so long is a blessing, and l give due credit for it to the woman who has lead [sic] them through an exceptionally difficult and trying time in the best tradition of Starfleet - Captain Kathryn Janeway."
– Admiral Owen Paris, in an address to the Federation Council.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Dark Frontier, Part 1"
Confident that she will win, Janeway prepares to confront a Borg scout ship in order to try and steal its transwarp coil.
6 Base 6 COUNSELOR DEANNA TROI

"Dear Deanna,
You know, I still miss the Enterprise-D. It's not the same working on Earth, not the same feeling of family we shared on board the ship. Of course, much of that feeling of family l owe to you. You helped me through holo-addiction, transporter psychosis, and even that horrible little mutagenic intron virus that they named after me. You were the finest Counselor a person could have. You even saved our lives when you landed the Enterprise on Veridian III. Still, I miss our talks. I hope... if you ever find yourself on Earth, that you will take the time to visit.
- Yours. Reginald Barclay"

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Hollow Pursuits"
Counselor Troi confronts her holographic doppleganger [sic] in a holodeck fantasy program created by engineer Reginald Barclay.
7 Base 7 DOCTOR BEVERLY CRUSHER

"She was, without a doubt, one of my favorite students. Beverly was a kind soul, as deft with herbal medicinals a she was with cutting edge technology. It was much to my delight that, many years after we had been mentor and student, I was afforded the chance to visit her aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, and see the remarkable medical discoveries she's uncovered, as well as observe the wondrous camaraderie she has helped forge among the crew."
– Dr. Dalen Quaice in a news interview.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Cause & Effect"
Not remembering that she is reliving past events all over again Dr. Crusher examines Geordi's VISOR to try and determine why he became suddenly disoriented in Engineering.
8 Base 8 DOCTOR GILLIAN TAYLOR

"The case of 'Dr. Taylor' is a perfect example of the flagrant temporal violations we have come to expect from Captain James Tiberius Kirk. Dr. Gillian Taylor was a native of 20th Century Earth, temporally displaced from her time in order to care for a cetacean taken from the past by Kirk and his crew. Were it not for the fact that this whale was needed to prevent Earth's destruction by an alien probe, we are certain that this Dr. Taylor would be happily settled in her own time, rather than trapped in the 23rd century."
– Inspector Lucsley [sic], Department of Temporal Investigations.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from Star Trek IV: The Vovage Home
Like Alice Through the Looking Glass, Dr. Gillian Taylor finds fantasy becoming reality when she is beamed aboard the Klingon vessel being used by Captain Kirk to transport whales into the 23rd Century.
9 Base 9 EDITH KEELER

"Edith Keeler, social worker, humanitarian, egalitarian, will be remembered as a visionary for global peace in a time of turmoil, Donations to the Twenty-First Street Mission wil be accepted in lieu of flowers."
– Obituary, New York Times, 1930

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "[The] City on the Edge of Forever"
On his first date with Edith Keeler, Kirk points out the star in Orion's belt that is the birthplace of an author who wrote a book around the three words "Let Me Help."
10 Base 10 ENSIGN RO LAREN

"I have heard people say many things about Ro Laren - that when she was in Starfleet, she disobeyed orders in such a way that eight crewmembers died. That she worked for Admiral Kennelly, who was in league with the Cardassians. That she had a change of heart and became an exemplary officer aboard the Enterprise. That her presence among us now is as a traitor and a spy. But I say to those critics that I know her heart. Her pagh is Bajoran, and she belongs here, with us. She is like a daughter to me and I know she will not betray the Maquis."
– Macias, leader of a Maquis Cell on Ronara.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Preemptive Strike"
While working undercover for Starfleet Command, Ensien Ro finds herself helping the Maquis fend off a Cardassian ambush on their base. It is a decision that will ultimately lead to her abandoning Starfleet for the Maquis.
11 Base 11 LIEUTENANT EZRI DAX

"Though the Dax symbiont has survived the death of eight previous hosts, there is some small concern regarding its current host. Ensign Ezri Tigan was not evaluated by the Symbiosis Evaluation Board prior to implantation, and thus the joining was performed without the necessary rituals and procedures customarily done at the time of symbiosis. Since such a process, once completed, cannot be undone, we hope for the best, though we will keep a close eye on the symbiont's progress."
– Excerpted from the report on Ezri Dax to the Trill Symbiosis Conmission

Pictured IN MOTION:
fron "Field of Fire"
Possessed by the memories of the killer Joran Dax, Ezri prepares to open fire on a Vulcan murderer with a rifle that can shoot through walls.
12 Base 12 VINA

*We note, with regret, the final fate of the S.S. Columbia and its crew, and mourn the fact that it will be virtually impossible to rescue its sole human survivor, the young woman known as Vina, from the aliens native to Talos IV. As the illusion-generating powers described by Captain Christopher Pike are well beyond the ability of our technology to handle, we hereby place into law General Order Seven: that no starship should contact the planet Talos IV under penalty of death."
– from the written minutes of an emerrency session of the Federation Council

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "The Menagerie"
Captured by the telepathic Talosians after the crash of her parent's ship, the human Vina is recreated by the Talosians as an Orion animal woman in an attempt to seduce Captain Christopher Pike of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701.
13 Base 13 ILIA

"Ilia: Species - Deltan. Previous service with Willard Decker. Originally slated for a five-year mission as the navigator of the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701. Officially listed as missing in action during the V'Ger incident of 2271. Further reports indicate that a[n] alien probe replicated her form in order to interact with the Enterprise and, later, with Commander Decker, in order to fulfill V'Ger's programmed mission to find its 'Creator'."
– Excepted from summary of the V'Ger Incident in Starfleet logs.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from Star Trek: The Motion Picture
Dr. McCoy and Nurse Chapel try to re-introduce the V'Ger probe to its mortal origins by showing it llia's room.
14 Base 14 LT. COMMANDER JADZIA DAX

"Those of the Federation know her as Dax, a Trill symbiont who has lived through seven lifetimes. But we know the honor that is at her heart. She was Curzon, blood brother to Kor, Koloth, and Kang, godfather to Kang's son and honored diplomat at the Khitomer Accords! She was Jadzia, hero of the Dominion war, daughter of the House of Martok, and mate to Worf! Let the dead in Sto-Vo-Kor howl in fear! A true warrior comes to meet them!"
– General Martok, chancellor of the Klingon Empire.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Looking For Par'Mach in All the Wrong Places"
The aftermath of Dax expressing her affection for Worf in a very... Klingon manner.
15 Base 15 KAI WINN

"It is with preat sadness that the Assembly records this. A follower of the Prophets should exhibit strong moral character and dignity. Yet, Kai Winn's path was marked with treachery. She manipulated us and we are sorry we did not perceive it; she tried to assassinate Vedek Bareil and later, as Kai, almost ignited a civil war. She even betrayed the Prophets, freeing the pah-wraiths from their ancient prison. But, perhaps in this way, the wisdom of the prophets is revealed, for in her last moments, she recognized her fall from grace, and sacrificed herself to help banish the pah-wraiths forever."
– Excerpted from Vedek Assembly records.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "The Changing Face of Evil"
After betraying the Prophets by working with Gul Dukat and killing her servant, Kai Winn discovers that blood reveals the hidden writing in an ancient tome that will free the pah-wraiths from their ancient prison.
16 Base 16 K'EHLEYR

"That she was half-human is of no consequence. Her heart was filled with honor and she served the Empire with distinction. She reunited the crew of the T'ong with their people, and was ambassador to K'mpec. She aided the federation ghawwl', Jean-Luc Picard in the Arbitration of Succession and steered him clear of the paths of treachery laid before her. Her death led to the destruction of the traitor Duras. Let the dead of Sto-vo-kor quake at her coming!"
– From the records of the High Council

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Reunion"
After returning to the U.S.S. Enterprise-D from the Klingon High Chancellor's ship, K'Ehleyr attempts to force Worf into asking if her child, Alexander, is Worf's son.
17 Base 17 KES

"We mourn her loss as we would any crewman, though she is not dead, she has passed far beyond this place. She was one of the first aliens that we befriended in the Delta Quadrant and her kindness and gentle empathy will not soon be forgotten. She believed that her race, the Ocampa, had the potential to possess mental powers far beyond most species. In the end, she was right and her gift, sending us over nine thousand light years coser to home, will not soon be foreotten."
– Captain kathryn Janeway.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Warlord"
Under the tutelage of the Ocampan Tanis, Kes revels in her psychokinetic powers and summons the 'Cold fire' to drain the life force from everything in the airponics bay.
18 Base 18 COLONEL KIRA NERYS

"We recoenize Kira Nerys for her many accomplishments in service to Bajor. She was a freedom fighter helping to free us from the tyranny of the Cardassians - and later she unselfishly shared these skills to help free the Cardassians from the oppressive Dominion. She was appointed first officer to the former Cardassian station Terok Nor, and aided the Federation in safeguarding the Bajoran wormhole. Time and time apain, she has proven that she is not afraid to fight when it is needed or make peace when it is needed. Now, she commands Deep Space Nine and we pray that the Prophets will continue to guide her as well as they have in the past."
– Bajoran Provisional Government

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "The Circle"
For the first time, Kira encounters an Orb of the Prophets, usine the Orb of Prophecy and Change to gain insight on why she lost the position of first Officer on Deep Space Nine.
19 Base 19 LWAXANA TROI

"Ambassador to our government, daughter of the Fifth House, Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx, and Heir to the Holy Rings of Betazed, Lwaxana is a testament to the best-of us. Her passion, her zest for life, and her unmitigated zeal for telling the truth are a perfect match for her telepathic abilities and we look forward to having her serve the government for many years to come!"
– Betazoid Diplomatic Corps.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "The Muse"
In order to break her marriage to the prejudiced Tavnian dignitary Jeyal, Lwaxana marries her friend Odo in a moving ceremony that allows her to keep custody of her son.
20 Base 20

LEETA

"This Leeta character pops up too many times to be trusted. She was found to be aiding a union while working as a Dabo Girl at Quark's. And she was dating a healthy human doctor for a time before breaking up with him to date Rom. Given her connections to the cream of Deep Space Nine, as well as her connections to the staff at Quark's, I'd bet four strips of latinum that she is someone to watch out for!!
– Ferengi Commerce Authority, Liquidator Brunt.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Let He Who is Without Sin"
As part of the Baioran Rite of Separation, Leeta and Dr. Bashir, travel to Risa to partake in its pleasures before they part ways, freeing Leeta to date the Ferengi, Rom.

21 Base 21

LIEUTENANT TASHA YAR

*It has been noted that Lieutenant Natasha Yar has served my crew with distinction and honor. But let it also be said that I considered her a friend. She had overcome many obstacles to join the crew of the Enterprise - perhaps the hardest was her long struggle to leave her homeworld of Turkana IV. But the Enterprise became her home, and, I believe, we became her family."
– Captain Jean-Luc Picard

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "The Naked Now"
Under the influence of the Psi 2000 virus, Tasha Yar presents an unusual offer of intimacy to Lieutenant Commander Data.

22 Base 22 LURSA & B'ETOR

"There are those that will call us traitors and honorless petaQs. But to those dogs, I say that it was all done for glory of the Empire and the family of Duras! Despite the assassinations we may have attempted, the temporary alliance with the Romulans, or starting the Klingon Civil War, we did it all for the Empire - an Empire weak without the strength of the House of Duras! Long live the House of Duras!"
– Lursa of House Duras.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Firstborn"
Lursa and Betor [sic] are furious with Worf when he insults their, albeit little, honor while investigating an assassination attempt against Worf's son, Alexander.
23 Base 23 MARTIA

"You are to befriend the criminal Kirk and his accomplice McCoy. From there, you are to use your chameloid shape-shifting to aid in their escape from the dilithium mines and lead them to the surface. And there, in the icy wastes outside, you will lead them to the place where they will be destroyed. Then, you will be pardoned for your numerous crimes, to go where you will, free from Rura Penthe."
– The Klingon governor of Rura Penthe, to Martia

Pictured IN MOTION:
from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
The chameloid shapeshifter Martia shows her true colors and goes from rescuer to attacker when Captain Kirk discovers that she is going to give them up to the murderous Klingon authorities on the penal colony Rura Penthe.
24 Base 24 MIRROR KIRA

"Supervisor Odo is currently dead and the Terran slaves are in the middle of staging a teensy, tiny rebellion which I will crush! Your ore will arrive as scheduled."
– from the Intendant, to the Repent

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Through the Looking Glass"
The Intendant attempts to (unsuccessfully) squash a revolt of the Terran slaves led by our own Commander Sisko.
25 Base 25 MIRROR UHURA

"May I point out that I had an opportunity to observe your counterparts here quite closely. They were brutal, savage, unprincipled, uncivilized, treacherous. In every way, splendid examples of Homo sapiens, the very flavor of humanity. I found them quite refreshing."
– Spock describing the denizens of the Mirror Universe trapped on the "real" Enterprise while the "real" crewmembers of the Enterprise were trapped on the violent Mirror Universe Enterprise.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Mirror, Mirror"
After successfully distracting the 'mirror' version of Sulu from his security console, Uhura resoundingly slaps him to prevent Sulu from further harassing her.
26 Base 26 NURSE CHRISTINE CHAPEL

"We are sorry to hear of your decision to leave our bioresearch division in order to find your fiancé. We understand that the Enterprise is a fine ship, and Dr. McCoy is, without a doubt, a fine surgeon, but we would be remiss if we did not point out that the chances are slim that you will ever find Dr. Korby in the vastness of space. Should you ever choose to return, you will be welcome here or within any program in Starfleet Medical."
– Message to Christine Chapel from Starfleet Medical

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "What Are Little Girls Made Of?"
Nurse Christine Chapel and Captain Kirk beam down to Exo Ill in search of Dr. Korby, her long-lost fiancé.
27 Base 27 LIETENANT SAAVIK

"Lieutenant Saavik is an excellent cadet, with much promise as part of the command staff of Starfleet. In Academy simulations, she was near top of her class. Though she showed some confusion as to the purpose of the Kobayashi Maru no-win scenario, we will be interested in seeing how she reacts to actual combat situations. It is our belief that she will do well."
– Starfleet Academy records

Pictured IN MOTION:
from Star Trek ll: The Wrath of Khan
Saavik assists Captain Kirk and Dr. McCoy in searching a science station for any survivors of Khan's brutal attempt to steal the Genesis Proiect.
28 Base 28 SESKA

"We note the loss of the Cardassian operative, Seska - bio-engineered to look Bajoran - while on deep cover operation among the Maquis in the Badlands. With any luck, she is still alive somewhere, furthering Cardassian interests with the ruthless efficiency for which our Order is so justifiably praised."
– Entek, to Enabran Tain of the Obsidian Order.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Maneuvers"
After having taken over the U.S.S. Voyager, Seska takes no chances and disables Voyager's holographic Doctor by phasering the sickbay holo-emitter and destroying it.
29 Base 29 SEVEN OF NINE

"Data node 173-24. Isolinear information flow begins. Target designation: Seven of Nine. Initial purpose: Borg drone in service to Uni-Matrix 001. Assigned as information conduit to facilitate Borg-Federation alliance dealine with threat of Species 8472. Upon failure to assimilate crew of Alpha Quadrant starship, Borg drone designated Seven of Nine released to Federation custody to explore idea of human individuality. Later retrieval of unit Seven of Nine by Borg Queen to extract information about human individuality unsuccessful. Secondary protocols have been activated, Borg drone Seven of Nine will be assimilated.
– From Uni-matrix 001

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Drone"
At her bridge station, Seven of Nine prepares to confront the Borg.
30 Base 30 T'PRING

"We shield it with ritual and customs shrouded in antiquity. You humans have no conception. It strips our minds from us. It brings a madness which rips away our veneer of civilization. It is the Ponn farr, the time of mating."
– Mr. Spock to Captain Kirk about the specifics of Vulcan biology.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Amok Time"
Wracked by the powerful emotions of the Pon farr, Spock is shocked to find his 'petition' to marry T'Pring rejected by T'Pring herself.
31 Base 31 LIEUTENANT UHURA

"It's not that I didn't know who she was - I mean everyone knows who Uhura is! She's been with Kirk and the Enterprise practically forever. I've heard people say she was a talented technician, and a fair musician - and she's been everywhere from Platonius to the Guardian of Forever, but I never expected her to pull a phaser on me and hijack a starship. I wonder - was it something I said?"
– Anonymous starleet lieutenant working in a transporter room in Starfleet Command, Star Trek Ill: The Search for Spock

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "The Trouble With Tribbles"
Lieutenant Uhura is introduced to Tribbles for the first time by the roguish merchant, Cyrano Jones.
32 Base 32 YEOMAN JANICE RAND

"After exemplary service to the U.S.S. Enterprise, we proudly award an increase in rank to Janice Rand and the Medal of Service for her aid in the Emergency Center at Starfleet Command during the alien probe crisis of Stardate 8390. We sincerely hope that, as she takes the position of communications officer about the U.S.S. Excelsior, she will continue in the fine tradition of Starfleet, and act as an inspiration to those who make up the next generation of Starfleet cadets"
– Admiral Morrow.

Pictured IN MOTION:
from "Charlie X"
After being phased into oblivion by the psychically powerful adolescent, Charlie X, Yeoman Rand is rescued from death by the equally powerful Thasians, who had originally gifted Charlie with his powers to help him survive.

CHASE CARDS

Heroines of Star Trek (1:8 packs)

H1 H1 LT. COMMANDER JADZIA DAX

"That this law may be placed above all others – a Trill symbiont across multiple hosts may not another Trill love, lest the symbiont be lost to an eternity of stagnation locked in the emotional struggles of its hosts. Instead, their life becomes forfeit to their love – should they be reassociated, their current host will be their last one. If, in truth, love is stronger than death, then they will have to discover this by paying the ultimate price. In this way, let them never be rejoined."
– Trill Symbiosis Commission rules regarding Trill-Trill relations across different hosts.

Pictured IN MOTION: "Rejoined"
Though forbidden to do so by Trill law, Jadzia Dax and Lenara Kahn reignite the passion of their previous marriage as Torias Dax and Nilani Kahn.
H2 H2 CAPTAIN KATHRYN JANEWAY

"It is a truth of temporal physics that certain sacrifices will always go unremembered. For a brief moment, there existed a time when an entire year was spent fighting a mass murderer from the Krenim Imperium who used a temporal weapon to eradicate entire species from history. Captain Janeway's historic sacrifice – crashing her vessel into the Krenim timeship – erased the entire alternate time-space continuum, including her sacrifice. Her selflessness is only remembered here, in our chronal logs, and, at least we will never forget.'
– First Officer's log. Timeship Relativity

Pictured IN MOTION: "Year of Hell, Part I'
Saddened that their meeting has turned violent, Janeway prepares to incapacitate the alien Nacene 'Suspiria' with a specially designed weapon.
H3 H3 SEVEN OF NINE

"Though she spent most of her early life as a Borg Drone, Seven of Nine distinguished herself among the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager. She exceeded expectations, both as a Borg and as an individual, and was willing to put both her life and mind in jeopardy in order to save her crewmates."
– First Officer's log. Timeship Relativity

Pictured IN MOTION: "Relativity"
Acting as an agent of the Timeship Relativity, Seven of Nine chases a deranged future version of Captain Braxton through Voyager while it is still in stardock at Utopia Planitia in the past.
H4 H4 LIEUTENANT UHURA

"Her name means 'freedom' in her native language and it has been a most appropriate title for this astonishing woman. She was the chief communications officer on board the Enterprise, a highly skilled technician, musician, and vital part of the crew. She was present at the historic Khitomer Accords, for which this seminar was postponed. But now we would like to welcome her back – Lt Commander Uhura!"
– Opening speech for Starfleet seminar on "Intergalactic communities"

Pictured IN MOTION: "The Alternative Factor"
By request, Uhura prepares to entertain the crew with a song.
