Lt. Malcolm Reed served as Enterprise NX-01's armory officer, and his skills proved crucial as the ship encountered unfamiliar alien races in deep space. Reed's crewmates knew they could depend on him in any situation requiring tactical resourcefulness. |

Ensign Hoshi Sato's gift with languages made her Captain Archer's choice to be the Enterprise NX-01's communications officer. As the first human fluent in Klingonese, Sato played a Key role in stopping the Suliban from inciting a Klingon civil war. Later, Sato helped save Earth from destruction when she decrypted the Xindi weapon schematics, allowing Archer to destroy the device. |

Enterprise NX-01 helmsman Travis Mayweather was one of the ship's youngest crewmen, but he had a keen "feel" for space travel, as he was born and raised in space. Ensign Mayweather relied on his exceptional piloting abilities to guide the Enterprise through many dangers, including a Romulan minefield, a destructive eddy, and the treacherous Delphic Expanse. |

Admiral Maxwell Forrest supervised Starfleet's NX project and stood up to the Vulcans when necessary, as they seemed intent on slowing the project down. Forrest chose Jonathan Archer to command the Enterprise NX-01 and allowed the ship to launch early, over the Vulcans' objections. Some years later, Forrest was killed while saving Ambassador Soval from a terrorist blast on Vulcan. |

Commander Shran
The Enterprise NX-01 crew encountered Commander Shran of the Andorian Imperial Guard as he was attempting to prove that the Vulcans were spying on Andorian territories. Captain Archer found that Shran was right. Later, Shran provided critical support during the Enterprise's mission to destroy the Xindi weapon. Eventually, Shran quit the Imperial Guard for the sake of his family. |

Major Hayes led a Military Assault Command Operations (MACO) team assigned to the Enterprise NX-01 during the ship's mission into the Delphic Expanse. A highly disciplined military man, Haves worked with his rival, Lt. Reed, to save the Enterprise from a hostile alien. Later, Hayes helped rescue Ensign Sato from a Xindi-Reptilian warship, an effort which cost him his life. |

Silik
Captain Archer encountered Silik, a Suliban operative, as the latter was attempting to destabilize the Klingon Empire. Archer stopped him, but Silik continued to interfere with the Enterprise NX-01 on the orders of his benefactor from the future. Eventually, Slik teamed up with Archer to prevent the Na'kuhl from building a temporal conduit, but he was killed in the process. |

Ambassador Soval
Ambassador Soval's attitude toward humanity's venture into space was too cautious for Captain Archer, but in time the two men came to respect one another. Soval helped expose treachery within the Vulcan High Command during the Syrrannite crisis, and he warned the Andorians about a Vulcan invasion plot. His actions saved many lives and helped dissolve the Vulcan High Command. |

Humanoid Figure
In exchange for genetic and technological improvements, the Suliban Cabal carried out the demands of a shadowy, 28th century humanoid figure embroiled in a Temporal Cold War. The humanoid had Silik frame the Enterprise NX-01 for the destruction of the Paraagan II mining colony. Later, he ordered Silik to steal a temporal conduit, but Captain Archer and Silik destroved it. |

Dr. Arik Soong
Dr. Arik Soong was a gifted geneticist, but his obsession with human genetic engineering blinded him to the dangers of such manipulation. Soong broke out of Captain Archer's custody and led his Augment "children" on a raid of Cold Station 12 to free the remaining Augment embryos there. In the end, though, Archer managed to return Soong to prison. |

T'Pau
T'Pau emerged from Vulcan's Syrrannite movement as a preeminent leader among her people, guiding them toward the teachings of the ancient Vulcan philosopher Surak. T'Pau's efforts to bring Surak's original writings to light brought about the end of the Vulcan High Command and ushered in a new era for her people. |

Commander Dolim
Commander Dolim, the ruthless Xindi-Reptilian military officer on the Xindi Council, believed that the human race should be obliterated to prevent humans from destroying his homeworld. He tried to deploy the Xindi weapon against Earth in spite of evidence that the threat was false. Captain Archer managed to destroy the weapon – and Dolim. too. |

Xindi-Primate Councilor
The Xindi-Primate Councilor was suspicious of the Enterprise NX-01 when the ship entered the Delphic Expanse. He urged Commander Dolim to find out all he could about the human vessel's crew. Eventually the Councilor met Captain Archer, but he was skeptical of Archer's claim that humans were not a threat to the Xindi. In time. his viewpoint changed. |

Degra
Degra, a Xindi-Primate scientist, designed the weapon that killed seven million people on Earth. He continued refining the weapon for another attack until Captain Archer showed him that the Xindi's "Guardians" were the real threat, not humans. Thereafter, Degra assisted Archer's efforts to stop the Xindi attack, a choice which led to his death at Commander Dolim's hands. |

Crewman Elizabeth Cutler
Crewman Elizabeth Cutler proved herself a skilled exobiologist and entomologist aboard the Enterprise NX-01. Cutler liked to explore new friendships and became close with Dr. Phlox while training as a medic. She filled in for Phlox when he had to hibernate, and later, she provided valuable assistance to Phlox during a mission to help the people of Valakis. |

When Captain Archer first met Daniels, the temporal agent from the 31st century was posing as an Enterprise NX-01 crewman. Daniels returned several times to help Archer prevent incursions by various adversaries in a Temporal Cold War. Daniels' interventions, though vexing to Archer, were critical to preserving the timeline and ending the Cold War. |

The Xindi-Arboreal scientist Jannar believed that the Xindi plan to destroy Earth was justified, since – according to the Guardians – a preemptive strike would prevent humanity from eventually destroying the Xindi. When Captain Archer presented evidence to the contrary, Jannar was highly skeptical. In time, though, he was persuaded to help Archer prevent Earth's destruction. |

After the Enterprise NX-01's return from the Delphic Expanse, Captain Erika Hernandez joined Captain Archer on a rock-climbing adventure and helped her old flame recover from the trauma of the Xindi mission. Later, Hernandez and her vessel, the Columbia NX-02, helped Archer's crew rescue Dr. Phlox from a Klingon outpost as the Klingons grappled with the augment virus. |

Malik was the most rebellious of Arik Soong's Augments. He stole a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, killed its crew, and freed Soong from the Enterprise NX-01 brig so that Soong could free more Augment embryos at Cold Station 12. After Malik stole hundreds of pathogens and turned on Soong, Captain Archer was forced to kill him with a particle rifle. |

Commander Tucker worked with Ah'len, a Xyrillian engineer, to help repair her ship's engines. Their mutual attraction led Ah'len to share an experience with Tucker involving the transfer of genetic information, which left Tucker pregnant. Ah'len helped resolve the issue by having the embryo transferred to another Xyrillian host. She and Tucker parted as friends. |

Jamin
Jamin led the Terra Nova colony descendants, and he didn't trust Captain Archer at first. He thought an attack by humans had poisoned the colony's water, but in truth, an asteroid was responsible for the contamination. Archer earned Jamin's trust by helping rescue an injured colonist, after which Jamin agreed to the captain's plan to move his people to a safer location. |

Koss
Koss and T'Pol were arranged to be married, but T'Pol was reluctant to honor the arrangement. Koss persuaded her by helping her mother reclaim her position at the Vulcan Science Academy. Koss Iater helped Captain Archer and T'Pau reach the High Command with the Kir'Shara, leading to a new path for Vulcan. Koss released T'Pol from their marriage shortly thereafter. |

Administrator V'Las of the Vulcan High Command attempted to orchestrate a Vulcan-Romulan reunification through subterfuge and violence. Working with a Romulan operative, V'Las ordered the deadly bombing of Earth's embassy on Vulcan to discredit the Syrrannites. He was also behind the attempted invasion of the Andorian Empire. The attempt failed, and V'las was deposed. |

Riaan, a dedicated apothecary on the Akaali homeworld, worked relentlessly to understand and treat a disease that was spreading among her people. Her suspicion that Garos, a curio shop owner, was behind the epidemic proved to be accurate. Riaan helped Captain Archer expose Garos as a Malurian whose mining operations were poisoning the water supply. |

Ulis
Ulis and his fellow Ferengi pirates seized the Enterprise NX-01 by rendering most of the crew unconscious; then they pillaged the ship. Ulis believed that the Enterprise must have a secret vault, and he was determined to acquire its contents. Captain Archer, Commander Tucker and T'Pol played on the Ferengis' greed to overcome them and retake the ship. |

Muk was part of the Ferengi crew that attempted to loot the Enterprise NX-01. T'Pol exploited Muk's avarice and mistrust of his fellow Ferengi to begin driving a wedge between them. Later, Tucker used Muk's greed against him by leading him and the other Ferengi to the ship's "vault" – actually the bio-matter resequencing section, where T'Pol ambushed them. |

Liana, a young Kantare woman, grew up on an unidentified planet with her father after their ship crashed. Ezral created a holographic crew to keep his daughter company, but Liana yearned for more after spending time with Commander Tucker. She and Tucker eventually convinced Ezra to take her back to their homeworld. Liana bid Tucker goodbye with a kiss. |

Ambassador V'Lar was unlike any Vulcan Captain Archer had ever met: genial, gracious, even charming. When Mazarite ships attacked the Enterprise NX-01 while the latter was taking V'Lar to Vulcan territory, V'Lar revealed to Archer her secret mission to expose criminals within the Mazarite High Council. The Enterprise prevailed and V'Lar was able to complete her important mission. |

Colonel Grat
Colonel Grat oversaw Tandaran Complex 26, a prison holding innocent Suliban. After Grat's officers shot down the shuttlepod carrying Captain Archer and Ensign Mayweather, Grat refused to let the two humans go, even though he knew they were not affiliated with the Suliban. Archer and Mayweather eventually escaped, freed the Suliban, and locked Grat in an isolation cell. |

Zobral
Zobral, a rebel clan leader on the Torothan homeworld, tried to reform government first through peaceful means, and then through terrorism. When he learned of Captain Archer's rescue of Suliban prisoners at Tandaran Complex 26, Zobral tried to recruit Archer to his cause. Archer, of course, was alread committed to the cause of exploring the cosmos aboard the Enterprise NX-01. |

Tessic
Tessic led a deuterium mining colony that was routinely harassed by Klingon marauders. The Klingons' visits left Tessic cowed and disheartened, until he met the Enterprise NX-01 crew. With their help, Tessic and his people learned how to stand up to the Klingons and drive them off. As thanks, Tessic provided Captain Archer with a generous supply of deuterium. |

Korok
Captain Korok and his Klingon raiders terrorized Tessic's mining colony for five seasons, taking most of the colony's deuterium and killing eight miners when they tried to fight back. However, Korok was unprepared for the miners resistance after the crew of the Enterprise NX-01 taught them to defend themselves. Korok had to withdraw and find his deuterium somewhere else. |

Menos
As a Vulcan undercover operative, Menos was supposed to return home after breaking up a cell of smugglers. Instead, Menos went rogue and became a smuggler himself. When T'Pol was sent to capture him, Menos tried to manipulate her by exploiting a painful memory from her past. in the end, Menos was arrested and his stash of biotoxins was confiscated. |

Kaitaama
Commander Tucker helped Kaitaama, a princess from Krios Prime, escape her Retellian abductors. At first Kaitaama treated Tucker rudely, but eventually they gave in to their mutual attraction and spent a night in each other's arms on a swampy planet. After the Enterprise NX-01 rescued them, Kaitaama invited Tucker to visit her on her homeworld. |

Tarah served under Commander Shran during the Andorian occupation of a Vulcan setlement on Weytahn. Tarah was more hawkish than Shran and advocated fighting the Vulcans rather than negotiating with them. Shran had to arrest Tarah after she ordered an attack on Captain Archer's shuttlepod and then tried to kill Ambassador Soval. |

Kolos, an elderly Klingon advocate on Narendra Ill, believed that honor was earned through integrity and true courage, not bloodshed. He found the courage to aggressively defend Captain Archer against conspiracy charges, leading the Klingon magistrate to sentence Kolos to a year at Rura Penthe. He hoped to inspire changes within the Empire after serving his sentence. |

Drennik
The Vissian starship captain Drennik quickly bonded with Captain Archer during a thrilling trip into a gas giant aboard Drennik's stratopod. Unfortunately, Commander Tucker's interference with a cogenitor, the Vissians' third gender, strained Drennik's relationship with Archer. They parted as friends – but a shadow fell over their friendship after the cogenitor committed suicide. |

A.G. Robinson
A.G. Robinson, Captain Archer's friend and rival, became the first pilot to break the warp 2 barrier when he flew the NX-Alpha at warp 2.2, though the craft broke apart in the effort. Later, Robinson and Archer teamed up for an unauthorized flight aboard the NX-Beta. This time they overcame the engine flaw, achieving warp 2.5 … and a place in the record books. |

Tarquin's telepathic ability led his people to exile him to an uninhabited planet. He grew lonely and hoped to convince Ensign Sato to live out her days with him. Sato refused, so Tarquin used his telepathic power to try to trick her into staying. When Sato saw through his ruse, Tarquin threatened the Enterprise, but that, too, failed, and he let Sato go. |

Bethany was a teacher at a colony resembling the Old West. She knew that her human ancestors had once been slaves to their Skagaran abductors, but she didn't agree with the harsh laws passed by humans – now in power – to restrict Skagarans. A visit from the Enterprise helped enlighten the colony and empowered Bethany to teach both human and Skagaran children. |

Pri'Nam D'Jamat and his crew of religious zealots seized control of the Enterprise NX-01 by threatening to trigger their internal organic explosives. D'Jamat intended to use the ship to win a war being waged on his home planet, Triannon. The Enterprise crew regained control and returned D'Jamat to Triannon, where they found the war already over, the cities leveled. |

Concerned about Captain Archer's efforts to save Earth, a Sphere-Builder contacted Commander Dolim of the Xindi-Reptilians and urged him to deploy the Xindi weapon against Earth at once. Otherwise, she warned, the Reptilians might not emerge as the dominant species of the new Xindi empire, as Dolim expected. The Enterprise NX-01 foiled the Builders plans and the Reptilians' hopes. |

Jhamel, a young Andorian woman of the Aenar subspecies, used her telepathic ability to help Captain Archer and Commander Shran contact the pilot of two drone ships that were destroying vessels in the region. Jhamel discovered that the pilot, her brother Gareb, had been tricked by the Romulans into cooperating with them. Jhamel convinced Gareb to end the violence. |

Vosk insisted on using time travel to benefit his own race. the Na'kuhl, in violation of the Temporal Accord. Vosk helped the Nazis conquer part of the United States, and in return, he and his people received materials they needed to build a time conduit back to their century. The Enterprise NX-01 crew destroyed the conduit, killing Vosk in the process. |

Duras, a disgraced Klingon soldier, lied at Captain Archer's tribunal when the Klingons accused Archer of conspiring against the Empire. After Archer's escape from Rura Penthe, Duras was given command of a Bird-of-Prey to apprehend him. Duras attacked the Enterprise NX-01 three times but failed to capture Archer. In the end, the Enterprise destroyed Duras' ship. |

John Paxton led the Terra Prime movement dedicated to the expulsion of non-humans from Earth. Using DNA from Commander Tucker and T'Pol, Paxton created a human-Vulcan hybrid child to demonstrate that aliens would "pollute" the human genome. He tried to fire the Mars verteron array at Starfleet Command, but the Enterprise NX-01 crew scotched the attempt and arrested him. |

Daniels reported that the Temporal Cold War was over and he bid the captain tarewell. |

The two became friends, and they continued to help each other at critical times. When Shran's daughter was abducted, Archer helped him rescue the girl. |

Romantic feelings surfaced between T'Pol and Tucker after the conclusion of the Xindi crisis. The death of their baby, created from their DNA by the xenophobe John Paxton, brought Tucker and T'Pol closer together. |

Tucker tried to sacrifice himself so that Reed might survive. Later, during shore leave on Risa, the two men were robbed by aliens, an embarrassing experience that they agree to keep secret. |

Tensions between the two men finally erupted in a vicious fight. Eventually Reed and Hayes came to respect each other, and Reed grieved when Hayes was killed while rescuing Sato from the Xindi. |

When Phlox told her about his marriage to three Denobulan women, Cutler said she didn't want to be wife #4, but she did want to be his friend. |

Admiral Forrest and Ambassador Soval often disagreed about humanity's venture into space. Indeed, Forrest overruled Soval in choosing Captain Archer to command the Enterprise NX-01. Still, the two men developed a mutual respect over time. When a bomb exploded at Earth's embassy on Vulcan, Forrest pushed Soval to safety at the cost of his own life – a sacrifice that affected Soval deeply. |

Captain Archer was very fond of his beagle, Porthos. The dog lived with Archer on the Enterprise NX-01 and became the first canine to visit another planet when he bounded across the grass on Archer IV. Porthos tried to alert Archer to dangerous situations. Archer, for his part, tended to spoil the dog with cheese, even though it disagreed with Porthos' system. |
