The shuttlecraft issues were originally offered to subscribers in Germany, Austria and Luxembourg as an optional part of a "Premium" subscription for an additional fee on top of the regular subscription charge. These subscribers would receive a shuttle every twenty issues. Shuttle sets would also be made available to the wider market in boxed sets via the Eaglemoss webshop. Although these shuttles are significantly smaller than the regular ships of the collection they are packed in the same sized boxes. They are also considerably more expensive per model than the regular ships due to their smaller production numbers. The first set had the four shuttles placed within a large sleeve whereas subsequent sets are placed within a box. The bases included are smaller than for the regular models measuring 70 mm long compared to 100 mm. The clear plastic stands have simple flat platforms on top rather than specially formed ones that the regular models have.

Each model comes with a 150 x 210 mm booklet. The booklets for the first two sets include "master systems display illustrations" (Okudagrams) created for each issue by Mike Okuda. These Okudagrams are also included as 120mm x 80mm translucent plastic sheets with two plastic stands for display. Similar schematics created by Rick Sternbach and Tim Earls are included with the third and fourth shuttlecraft set. The fourth set will feature shuttles from the Kelvin Timeline movies. Set 5 contains the first non-spacefaring vehicle in the entire collection; the Air Tram. Set 6 contains the first non-canon shuttle in the shuttles series; the Sphinx Workpod.
